Follow-on to the happy thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4210673-Can-the-40-49-age-group-now-book-their-vaccine.

(I'm jabbed, but just here to read happy news of jabs and try to book DH when it's his time.)

@DobbyTheHouseElk

MRex are you booked yet?
No. I've had mine in group 6, but have 40yo DH to book for and don't seem to be able to yet.

Thanks. 44 just booked for Monday.

CovidHalloween · 22/04/2021 19:18

Never thought anyone would ever wish they were older or that they were 44 today 🤣 so that they can book

Quartz2208 · 22/04/2021 19:19

whatswithtodaytoday · 22/04/2021 19:22

43yr old DH still can't book (Midlands). Looks like it might be just 44s.

tulips27 · 22/04/2021 19:33

Really weird if it's just 44 year olds, isn't it? I don't remember them moving down one year before.

seems like they really have v few vaccines available for first doses and so need to open up bookings one year at a time.

It will be some wait for the 40 yr olds then! I'm not 40 thankfully but not 44 either.

Thanks just got DH 44 booked in!

Dailywalk · 22/04/2021 19:36

Can anyone post a link please? DH is 43 nearly 44... hoping to book him in.
A spring chicken like myself (41) May have to wait a little longer from the sounds of it.

Dailywalk · 22/04/2021 19:39

Is it just the link on nhs page? Still says 45+?
Apologies if I’m being a bit thick

MiMong · 22/04/2021 19:40

Midlands here and those aged 40 at my surgery have been invited to book this week.

capercaillie · 22/04/2021 19:45

Thank you to this thread. I was 45 last week and have just managed to book!

Squidthing · 22/04/2021 19:47

Keep trying if you are 44 or 43. I looked at 430 pm and wasn't eligible but tried again at 515 pm and could book. My friend who is 43 also got on.

The information on the front pages updates after they have changed the system to let more people book. If you can book you are eligible and if you can’t you are not.
WombatChocolate · 22/04/2021 19:51

I reckon they are adding people are as speak. As some 43s are starting to get in, it could be they will add all of these and then stop. It could just be 1 year group but seems more likely to be 2...let’s hope so.

Perhaps the site page will update tomorrow morning leading to a flood which crashes it like last Monday. I think it’s certainly worth trying again before you go to bed as they can add a lot of people in a few hours.

Delatron · 22/04/2021 19:55

I think it literally has opened up in some areas in the last few hours. I didn’t expect to be able to get my vaccination centre at the bottom of my road and they offered me loads of slots next week. All times available. Must have just been updated.
Thanks so much for this thread.

Marjoriesdoor · 22/04/2021 19:55

I am 42 and not eligible, despite friends a few miles away who are younger being invited by their GP last week. Getting a little fed up now!

Dailywalk · 22/04/2021 19:59

Thank you!! DH is booked in (43 but 44 in mid May)
We are in W Yorkshire

GoldenOmber · 22/04/2021 20:14

@GintyMcGinty

Feel sorry for the 40-50 year olds in Scotland.

Scottish first vaccinations have plummeted to a tiddly little 2,000 per day.

The Scottish under 50s are going to have to wait a very, very long time before they get a jag.

Yes, it is a bit disappointing. They’re doing loads of second doses at the moment though so maybe this is follow-up from that big peak of first doses they were doing early Feb? In which case they should be past that in about ten days and can crank first doses back up again and move down to the rest of us.

I wish we got online booking like they do in England though!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 22/04/2021 20:24

Ignore the front page. Enter your details and see. I tried this morning and nothing, this afternoon it’s let me book. 43.
