Follow-on to the happy thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4210673-Can-the-40-49-age-group-now-book-their-vaccine.

(I'm jabbed, but just here to read happy news of jabs and try to book DH when it's his time.)

Thanks Bob, I usually get lost round there so have allowed over an hour anyway Grin

RumHoney · 22/04/2021 17:26

@Toddlerfuntimes

We have been checking every day and this afternoon it allowed my 44 year old husband to book his vaccine. We are in West Yorkshire loads of availability from tomorrow onwards. They must have started opening up slots for under 45’s so worth checking if in the next age bracket.
No luck for me (42 West Yorkshire) when I just checked
Squidthing · 22/04/2021 17:27

Favourite thread ever. Smile

ASimpleLobsterHat · 22/04/2021 17:28

DH (42 next week) has been contacted today by our GP and booked in for beginning of May - we’re in North Somerset.

ExpulsoCorona · 22/04/2021 17:28

Can't book my 43 year old husband yet. It looks like it's moved down to 44 today which is fantastic!

Squidthing · 22/04/2021 17:40

My 43 nearly 44 year old friend was just able to book too, so might not just be 44 year olds.

Interesting! Thanks for the heads-up. I'll try again this evening. He turned 43 less than a week ago.
User27aw · 22/04/2021 17:49

My dsis 42 wasnt able to.

Hoppyfrog · 22/04/2021 17:50

I am literally in love with this thread Smile

user34254356 · 22/04/2021 17:56

Cant book either, SE london.

WarriorN · 22/04/2021 17:58

I think it must be nationwide soon; a friend in London, 43, has hers booked for Monday. But could book a while ago.

CMSdividend · 22/04/2021 18:03

I'm 44 and just booked mine for Saturday and July

SouthOfFrance · 22/04/2021 18:04

So good to see all the progress, thanks for the thread Smile

CMSdividend · 22/04/2021 18:06

Also: am Cambs/Beds

SomethingWycked · 22/04/2021 18:07

I'm 42, my GP surgery in Lincolnshire put a message on Facebook yesterday for people over 30 to contact to book slots during a 2 hour window, I phoned up & had my first AZ jab yesterday.

PineappleSun · 22/04/2021 18:10

@CovidHalloween

I’ve read that they are holding back and building supplies of moderna and Pfizer for under 30s in England but are partially giving them to under 30s in wales to get the ball rolling. So much for vaccinating people in order of age groups. Totally unimpressed with this.
Some info on this, my husband and I were called out the blue by the GP for ours today at a Pfizer only clinic, 28 and 31 (and pregnant) Cambridgeshire
WarriorN · 22/04/2021 18:10

A Gp friend said most areas have been asking the government to move on and many are anyway.

Pearlywunzel · 22/04/2021 18:16

You all seem very well informed on this thread, so I wondered if you might know the answer to my question. I'm 43 and have just (this afternoon) got my first jab by being in the right place at the right time in Boots at the end of the day. But because I'm 43 I can't book my second one online yet, and I'm now a bit worried that I'm somehow out of step with the whole process! Has anyone else been in this situation and know how I should book my next one? Slightly wishing I'd declined now and gone through the normal channels, but it seemed to good a chance to pass up!

daisybrown37 · 22/04/2021 18:17

44 (45 next month) and I was able to book today. Going Saturday and in July. Had to chose different centres for each to get it to work, but pleased it is booked.

UselessTrees · 22/04/2021 18:19

Cheers, just got (slightly needlephobic) DH, age 44, to book his appointments. Still won't let me in yet (41), but looks like it won't be long now Smile

Now just have to make sure DH actually goes...

tulips27 · 22/04/2021 18:20

Just for info, I'm in the South West; not able to book.

tulips27 · 22/04/2021 18:20

Perhaps it's open for the upper end of this group?

I got my first as an end of day in the gp hub but the national system allows me to book a second vaccine (I haven’t as I am imagining the gps will contact me). But maybe give it a few days and the system will catch up and ‘know’ you have had your first so you can book your second. If not call 119 I guess to see if they can help.
Pearlywunzel · 22/04/2021 18:25

Thanks, Seranade, good idea!

Pashazade · 22/04/2021 18:26

44 and just booked both, but do turn 45 in less than month.....
