So with the release of figures as of Friday 19th March over half the adult population of the UK have had at least 1 vaccination.

The number of jabs given is March was phenomenal and its likely numbers will be lower for the next few weeks but even if its "only" 100-200k a day thats still more lives potentially being saved!

It's great to see them maintaining some first doses, even with the big uptick in second.

EasterIssland · 31/03/2021 14:37

Good numbers!

EasterIssland · 31/03/2021 14:38

im volunteering on easter Friday, hopefully big numbers despite it being easter this weekend

CaveMum · 31/03/2021 14:43

Noooooo, Hugo is taking a few days off Sad Now we’ll have to work out the numbers ourselves!

We can live without vaccines, without live without stickers... but not without Hugo!!!(lighthearted)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 31/03/2021 15:01

noooooo!
Probably just as well. We don't want a broken Hugo!

Bordois · 31/03/2021 15:06

Ugh, what is he spending time with his family or something 🙄

Marginally up on a week ago, no slowdown yet!

buttery81 · 31/03/2021 16:38

Fantastic numbers again today. We're still in surge mode with no signs of a slowdown yet!

People vaccinated up to and including 30 March 2021:

First dose: 30,905,538

Second dose: 4,108,536

That means 58% of the adult population have had their first dose and 7% have had both!

buttery81 · 31/03/2021 16:39

Also worth noting that we hit 4 million first doses on 17 January which is 10 weeks and 2 days ago. Means we have a bit of leeway on the 12 weeks at the moment. (Obviously there is a lot of “out of order” going on here - particularly with Wales doing Pfizer after 5 weeks - but it is a useful statistic to keep track on.

Great information, thanks @Mumoftwoinprimary!

buttery81 · 31/03/2021 16:41

Since this thread was started 11 days ago, over 4 million more people have been given a 1st dose Grin

EasterIssland · 31/03/2021 16:53

UK cases, deaths and vaccinations will be updated every day throughout the holiday period, with the following service changes:

England: data updated daily
Northern Ireland: no cases and deaths data on 4 April
Scotland: data updated daily
Wales: no data on 2 April and 4 April (note: cases and deaths data released on 5 April and 6 April will both cover 48 hour periods)

I take vacs will be updated everyday everywhere but Wales

Mumoftwoinprimary · 31/03/2021 18:14

It seems my new name is “Negative Nellie”! I wrote this just five days ago.....

We are now down to less than 75 deaths per day as our weekly average. I’m hoping for less than 50 by Good Friday. And less than 30 by the time the schools go back. That would be something.

Today is two days earlier than Good Friday and deaths over the last week are now down to 332 (47 per day) on average. Amazing.

yellowspanner · 31/03/2021 19:04

58% of adults in UK had at least one dose.
Staggering.
Congratulations to everyone who is making this happen.

So great to see those figures coming down even faster than you predicted Mumoftwo.

Can you imagine the day we get to zero?

Isn’t it just? Now let’s get to 31.8 million 1st doses so we can say that 60% have had at least 1 dose! Grin

Apologies for the stupid question but there were 32 million people in the phase 1 of the JCVI priority list. If nearly 31 million have now received their first dose, but they are nowhere near 100% covered the phase 1 groups, does that mean they have been vaccinating lots of people outside of groups 1-9?

Lots of my friends in their 30s/40s have had their jabs even though they're not in those groups so just trying to get my head around how many million there are ahead of me still or if it's a complete postcode lottery...

SunsetGirl · 31/03/2021 20:08

@nordica The JCVI priority lists covered people in more than one category, so over 50 + HCW, ECV or CV. The 32 million number includes some double counting.

EasterIssland · 01/04/2021 14:19

im sad today, think its the lack of Hugo

Lfw37 · 01/04/2021 14:25

In the absence of Hugo, I think the England numbers are 529,793 total doses, 188,045 first and 341,748 second.

Not sure where to find other nations data but looks to be a very good day!

Paddy1234 · 01/04/2021 14:41

Thanks lfw ❤️

WaverleyPirate · 01/04/2021 15:08

My Dad's in his 80's and has just been given appointment for 2nd vaccine for next week.

Paddy1234 · 01/04/2021 15:17

And those first doses are still coming through which is great. Great second doses data
