What is happening in France (and Italy)

Does anyone know why their cases are soaring? I know that areas of France and Italy are back in lockdown but does that mean they had limited restrictions before? I have googled but wondered if there were any resident mumsnetters who might be able to shed some light?

@StepOutOfLine education about other countries is fine , expecting to be able to tell them who they should vote for or heavily criticising is not , especially when all countries have enough of their own issues
Im not insular but would not tell a french person how bad their politics : prime minister etc is as thats not my business as I don't live their ,

However, a quick AS shows you quite often get accusations of being a Little Englander levelled at you.
I suppose you see that as something to be proud of.

Im not the one resorting to name calling am I and how does me not thinking I have a right telling french citizens who they should vote for or what a mess their politics etc is , make me a little englander.
It doesn't it means I respect the french to manage their own country and to
Not be too bothered what someone in the uk thinks , you don't even know if im english

It depends where you are domiciled for tax purposes and where your employer is. I have the double pleasure of paying tax in Italy for the job I do here, and in the UK for the job I do there.
Well rightly so if you earn money in both countries then you pay tax in both

What are you talking about ?

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 22/03/2021 00:30

@StepOutOfLine have you actually felt the need to go and look at my posts ? Yet you state you don't care
And a quick as would no show I have been called anything as I have not been called that at all and I didn't vote leave even

Paying tax somewhere does not give someone the right to bash a country, it's government, it's citizens and it's media. And it's understandable that such criticism will often not be welcome.

Ok, back to vaccines now...

And I haven't. As you'll see if you read my posts.

@StepOutOfLine so when you did an As search on me did you actually read the threads , you made accusations against me that are untrue , the one thread where it said little englander was not at or to me it was me , defending that some people had been called that wrongly and to explain the misconceptions people had about the thread and rules , so maybe read all the thread to understand like you have suggested others do

StepOutOfLine · 22/03/2021 09:06

@tangerinelollipop

Show me please where I have done any of the things you are falsely accusing me of.

Though, I do actually have the right to "bash" any govt whose policies, or lack thereof have directly caused the death of thousands of people, as I have the right to call out GF posters who think telling someone what they can, and cannot say on MN because they don't live there. (In itself an extremely dangerous precedent) As a British Citizen, I'll also "bash" any other BC I think is talking goady, xenophobic shite.

Yes, I read your comments.
It would be foolish of me not to Made my eyes bleed a bit, mind.
My comment to @tangerinelollipop stands.

tangerinelollipop · 22/03/2021 09:24

StepOutOfLine I didn't mean to offend you. My comment was more generic about those who justify insensitive and unfair criticism saying that they can do it because they pay tax somewhere.

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 22/03/2021 18:12

@StepOutOfLine well you clearly didn't otherwise you wouldn't if made the accusations you had would you ? Anyone else can look at this
Maybe be careful getting down if your high horse and thinking you are better than other people
Also can't say I have ever felt the need to look up a posters other posts a bit weird in all honesty

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 22/03/2021 18:15

@StepOutOfLine so its ok for you to tell me what I can and cannot say and make up crap but if someone disagrees with you then its not
My opinion is as valid as yours and anyone elses on this thread so please don't try and put people down because you somehow think you are better than anyone else

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 22/03/2021 18:43

@AuldAlliance have france started using az again now and do you think the news from the US today will restore confidence ?
