Astra Zeneca one?

People are only posting about their side effects, I would like to know if many people don't experience any?

My parents (both late 60s) had no side effects at all.

My grandmother (87) was slightly sore in the area of the jab for about a day.

My Aunt (early 60s) had very mild cold symptoms - which could actually have just been a cold.

ArosAdraDrosDolig · 17/03/2021 23:56

Me. Nothing. My friend was off work for 3 days after hers so I was apprehensive but I was absolutely fine, not even a sore arm.

XenoBitch · 18/03/2021 00:16

Both my parents (63 and 68) had the AZ vaccine. No side effects at all.

Glitterblue · 18/03/2021 00:17

My in laws, my friend's mum and another friend's parents all had the astra zeneca with no side effects.

Cloudyrainsham · 18/03/2021 08:24

None. A very slight tenderness at the injection toon site.

UntamedWisteria · 18/03/2021 08:39

Thanks to everyone for posting.

I had the AZ vaccine on Saturday - very slightly tender around where the needle went in, but no other symptoms. DH had his a couple of weeks earlier and felt rotten for about 24 hours, so I was interested to find out how likely it was to affect me.

@WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants Thanks for the encouragement. I was never not going to have it, but wanted to have an idea of what to expect.

Vaccine on Monday, a bit sleepy Tues afternoon and have slept like a log each night this week (3 nights so far) no unpleasant side effects. Arm not sore at all.

Whenthesunshines · 18/03/2021 08:44

I'd have been more concerned if I didn't get anything at all tbh. Like my immune system just went meh and went back to sleep.

Not sure this theory is scientifically accurate! 🤔

Whenthesunshines · 18/03/2021 08:50

This is interesting. People’s immune systems respond differently.

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/health-56375307

There is enormous genetic diversity in our immune systems, that's what underlies the difference," Prof Riley told Inside Health.

This diversity means some people's immune systems run a little bit hotter and are more prone to reacting aggressively.

Prof Riley said: "The people who, like yourself, go into full blown flu-like symptoms have rather overreacted to the whole thing.

"And it may be you're one of those people that always feels terribly ill if you have a cold or flu. I don't want to accuse you of having man-flu, but you may be one of those people."

The last paragraph is a quote from the article too! Bold fail!

It isn't, how could it be? Hmm it's how I personally feel. I wanted something, for reassurance for me.

Is that a problem?

fussychica · 18/03/2021 09:05

DH nothing other than a slightly tender arm, me same but mild headache, neighbour over the road nothing at all and out washing his car the next day. All in 60-65 age band. Friend 80 nothing.

DazedandConcerned · 18/03/2021 09:18

I had O/AZ 4 weeks’ ago - no side effects at all. A small bruise came up 5 days later. My arm wasn’t even sore.

annonnymous · 18/03/2021 09:18

Dh had none. I had Pfizer and had a sore arm.

TalkingIntoTheEther · 18/03/2021 09:23

PIL had no symptoms, aunt was a bit under the weather for 24 hours but other two aunts had no symptoms. In fact I don’t know anyone who has had a bad reaction to it.
