Astra Zeneca one?

People are only posting about their side effects, I would like to know if many people don't experience any?

OP posts:
Marisa444 · 14/03/2021 14:52

Slightly sore arm but nothing else - Husband a slight headache. AZ vaccine.

MotherQueenXeno · 14/03/2021 14:55

My parents and elderly MIL all had it with no side effects.

Londonnight · 14/03/2021 14:57

Had mine 4 weeks ago, no side effects at all

MrsAudreyShapiro · 14/03/2021 14:59

I had the AZ a couple of weeks ago. No side effects at all.

After a couple of hours I couldn't even find the injection site. Kudos to the nurse who gave me the jab.

LovesToBeInFrontOfTheCamera · 14/03/2021 15:08

I had mine 2 weeks ago - no side effects at all. My arm felt tender if I applied pressure where the needle went in but that was it. Must admit thought I was fully expecting to feel dreadful!

TerpsichoreanMuse · 14/03/2021 15:53

No, nothing, and I did an hour's workout and an hour long walk the next day.

nzborn · 14/03/2021 15:56

Me a friend recommended l hydrate and put a warm poultice on the injection site, l just hydrated.

Roobie51 · 14/03/2021 16:06

Astra Zeneca 2 weeks ago and zero side effects.

EarlGreywithLemon · 14/03/2021 16:32

Pfizer first dose three weeks ago, just had a sore arm. In laws had AZ four weeks ago, also no side effects. Ditto my father after the first and second doses of Pfizer.

curtainsforyou2 · 14/03/2021 22:19

My dp, dm, ddad, dgm all had nothing.
I was very ill
Of 2 of my team at work who have had it, one was very ill and one nothing.
Nb- I'm the healthiest of everyone on that list and youngest...I was the most ill.
Several other carer-mums i know who are under 50 and healthy also had symptoms. So perhaps younger cohort with strong immunity are the ones getting ill??

Twiggywinkle13 · 14/03/2021 22:33

Had mine yesterday, am very tired today but I don’t have a sore arm or any of the bad side effects I’ve seen.

NovemberR · 14/03/2021 22:37

Both DDs had AZ and vomited/felt rough and fluey for 24-48 hours. They both nurse and are in their 20s.

DH (mid 60s) had AZ vaccine last week. No side effects at all.

DF and DM in their mid 80s had the Pfizer vaccine a few weeks ago. Neither had any side effects.

I'm booked for a vaccine next week. No idea which one.

DahliaGardener · 17/03/2021 11:11

That's interesting. My male friend has had every symptom listed (and more) and is still suffering 6 days after the jab. But he has been a long-term sufferer from chronic fatigue, so probably uniquely vulnerable.

Fferny1 · 17/03/2021 11:16

The advisors at our local Hub told me that about 50% are getting side effects with the AZ vaccine.

HerLadySheep · 17/03/2021 11:17

Absolutely none in this house and we both had the AZ jab Smile

beguilingeyes · 17/03/2021 11:31

It's misleading to call them side-effects - that implies that there's something wrong.

These are perfectly natural reactions to the vaccine. Your arm will probably be sore...it's just had a needle stuck in it..and the other things are your body absorbing the vaccine. It's a sign that it's working.

gamerchick · 17/03/2021 11:32

Yeah my hackles go up at side effects. If they called it an immune response it wouldn't be as fearful in people's heads as it makes more sense.

I've now had my jab. AZ - and I am a long Covid sufferer with chronic fatigue syndrome.

No effects whatsoever (apart from sore arm).

Scarby9 · 17/03/2021 17:41

I had the AstraZeneca on Monday morning.
If I press here the needle went in I can feel it, but otherwise no side-effects at all.

Blimeyoreilly2020 · 17/03/2021 17:43

My dh said his arm was a bit sore and he was a bit tired (no diff to usual😆) so that’s pretty much no side effects!!

Newpuppymummy · 17/03/2021 17:44

I can confirm that I had no side-effects at all and neither did my best friend. I do know a lot of people who have had side-effects though, usually just for 12 hours

NeedWineNow · 17/03/2021 22:58

My DH (67) and Mum (84) both had the A Z. Mum was v.tired the following day and the site of the jab itched for a couple of days. DH had a stiff arm for a day but that was it. On the other hand one of my friends who is a carer aged 31 had it and was extremely rough - flu like symptoms and very tired. She had it in Saturday morning and had to have Monday off.

I'm 58 and have got mine Saturday. I'm allergic to penicillin so fully expecting to get some reaction and will be pleasantly surprised if I don't!

Flappityflippers1 · 17/03/2021 23:07

My DF had no side effects, CEV with terminal blood cancer.

My DM had very few side effects.

My DB is 30, was in bed for 2 days with D&V, raging temp, horrendous headaches and shakes!

DM had it as she’s DF carer, DB had it as lives with them and risk to DF so high.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 17/03/2021 23:07

@gamerchick

I think part of the problem is calling them side effects rather than an immune response, like they're to be feared.

I'd have been more concerned if I didn't get anything at all tbh. Like my immune system just went meh and went back to sleep.

I think so too. 'Immune response' is SO much better & far more accurate.

& yes to your second part. I'm a bit concerned my immune system did just that!

@UntamedWisteria I think ALL the threads have had a lot of people saying they didn't have any side effects, but I think you just sort of skim over them AND threads do seem to attract people who feel they have something to say or are skewed by OP's asking questions like 'what side effects did you have'

When you're offered it, do get it. IF you have an immune response, consider how much worse Covid would be!
