My good newspaper so no symptoms for me post AZ. Bit spacey/Wooley that's been it so far. Came to bed early last night, and rested yesterday, but nothing unpleasant. Not even a headache. Feel a bit cheated now 😂😂

@starfish88 I don't understand that either. It almost feels as if negativity will be clung to regardless but surely the point of the vaccine was to prevent, or at least lessen, subsequent waves?

carolinesbaby · 21/03/2021 11:05

I think some people just enjoy making other people feel miserable.

starfish88 · 21/03/2021 11:12

I do have some sympathy for people who hear a headline, panic and then post 'we will never go on holiday again' or 'life will never go back to normal' posts hoping someone will talk them out of it. I get tempted to do that but the only problem is someone else anxious will see it and decide my opinion/anxiety is now fact and other posters will join in with a doom and gloom pile-on not only telling me it's bad now but it's going to get worse. I'm not sure if this is for their own amusement or they genuinely feel that way.

Starfish I'm one of those people. I keep putting on foot on the slippery slope and consciously having to pull myself back. Occasionally I slip though, I did here the other day.

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel

There seem to be posts that are completely ignoring the existence of the vaccine. And others that are so wedded to the idea we are behind Europe that they assume whatever is happening there will be coming to us later, even though their current problem is the variant that got here first.
It's not just MN. I was reading a post on a center parcs fb group yesterday where someone was wondering what it might be like in June and someone was like it doesn't matter, there's a 3rd wave coming because there is in Europe
starfish88 · 21/03/2021 12:24

I suppose I wonder if the science is not being communicated properly in the media of if it's wilful misunderstanding and if so why?

ILookAtTheFloor · 21/03/2021 12:57

Gosh this board is bleak today.

Thank goodness for this thread.

tobee · 21/03/2021 13:03

@MarshaBradyo

I felt a bit fed up yesterday.

I think the road map will still go ahead as planned. I hope so anyway

Stay away from those other corona boards I saw you!!!!!! Grin

Bordois · 21/03/2021 14:07

Over 870k done yesterday.

How's that for good news!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 21/03/2021 14:15

@Bordois

Over 870k done yesterday.

How's that for good news!

The only thing I can say to that is Shock
starfish88 · 21/03/2021 14:54

Remember when omni calculator wouldn't let us put in more than 200k a day! Grin

MarshaBradyo · 21/03/2021 15:23

Tobee ha you made me laugh Grin

I’m definitely going through a fed up and over lockdown cycle, which makes me post!

OrangeBananaFish · 21/03/2021 15:24

Is that what we're expecting in April for 1st jabs 200k a day or there abouts? Then obvs a further few hundred thousand second doses until May when first doses might increase again (with hopefully other vaccines too)

Pomegranatespompom · 21/03/2021 15:36

I think this site has gone. bit bonkers today and there are definitely some who like to make others miserable.

Do people really think working in education is as difficult as working in a hospital during a pandemic? The lack of understanding astounding tbh.

MarshaBradyo · 21/03/2021 15:58

Pom I’m really looking forward to moving past so much! The same posts and words same issues

Pomegranatespompom · 21/03/2021 16:04

Yes you are right, I am now being forced to watch Jurassic world by DC - I really really don't like films like this, in poise news, lent is almost over and I have a bag of mini eggs and a new book to start when I can - that's total bliss !

MarshaBradyo · 21/03/2021 16:11

I’d be happy to never read the word rota again 😂

Making the biggest roast and having a glass of red

I did run for 50 mins yesterday so hopefully balancing out

tobee · 21/03/2021 16:15

This is going to sound silly but I'm worried I'm going to forget to do the census.

Pomegranatespompom · 21/03/2021 16:18

There are loads of phrases I’d love to never hear again:
Thrown under a bus in particular 🙄
Enjoy your roast and wine - 50 mins is fab - I only manage 30 and not really sure I’m quicker than a fast walk !

FourTeaFallOut · 21/03/2021 16:21

I've been off this thread for a while I was feeling particularly naffed off at the world, although no less optimistic for it, which is weird. Anyway, I'm back in if you'll have me?

Deaths came in at 33 today. Even by Sunday standards this is huge progress. I can't even remember the last time it was less than my age.

That’s fantastic
louisejxxx · 21/03/2021 16:42

Nice to have you back @FourTeaFallOut

I must admit that I come on less now too, now that school runs are a permanent fixture again I seem to have less time...not complaining in the slightest though Grin

FourTeaFallOut · 21/03/2021 16:55

I can't chalk it up to being productive. I've still been posting on the board but trying to not pollute this place with bad vibes Grin

FourTeaFallOut · 21/03/2021 17:01

And apparently the English hospital admissions are less than 300 for the first time since the 27th of September! (information nicked from Ganesh Ranganathan's tweet)
