Name change for this. I know I’m being overly anxious but I need a hand hold.

My friend is insistent on always sending me doomy messages about the Covid vaccine.

They’re always screen shots of something she’s seen on Facebook. Someone has died, someone has been taken to hospital, someone has had liver failure.
The latest one today is that a 34 year old woman has dropped dead after her vaccine.

Mine is booked for tomorrow and I’m really, really worried.

I already suffer from severe anxiety. I know rationally I shouldn’t pay attention to some random Facebook posts.
I know millions of people have had theirs and have been absolutely fine.

Right now, I’m not rational. I’m panicking and I can’t think clearly.

I’m so close to cancelling my appointment 😭😭

I’ve lived in fear for months now and I’m so looking forward to being vaccinated, but this is just another fear to add to the list 😖

Pissing myself @ this reply. Least they are following ppl who have evidence and medical qualifications unlike ur fave Matt Hancock and don't have shares in your pathetic excuse of a vaccine like Chris Witty and such and not only that its been shared by mutiple NHS doctors so they obvs don't think hes a consiracey theorist do they? Plus ppl could label you a cunt but does that make you one??????????????????????

Well I must say that this is the most convincing, well reasoned and well thought out argument I have seen on MN in a long time. I only wish other posters could aspire to this level of debate. I have totes changed my mind and I WoNt be GeTTinG ThE VacCine. No sireeeeee.

@knittingaddict

I hate these threads. Even if they are started in good faith, it gives the obstinately uneducated a platform for spreading misinformation and unscientific bilge.
Indeed. The vaccine misinformation continues. One poster evens suggests listening to 'her gut' is how she makes decisions .... oh my!

Never said anywhere about not getting the vaccine just trying to say go do some research n stop being such naive twats n only following what u wanna follow educate yourselves on it all
NedyNad · 11/03/2021 18:28

How many of u were going round convincing everyone on the science of flu? or convincing ppl to go get the flu vaccine? or the tb one? there was a massive meningitis outbreak at my sisters college back in 90s ppl weren't rushing to stick 5 masks on their faces or restrict medical treatment or force vaccines or bring vaccine passports out or make you stay in your homes away from ppl

How is this relevant to a world pandemic?
NedyNad · 11/03/2021 18:30

How about instead of telling the OP just to not listen to her friends and go get the vax u tell her she should have a heart to heart with her friends explain why u want and hear their concerns stopping shutting ppl down just because they aren't buying all the crap the tv tells them

rabbitcow · 11/03/2021 18:34

Maybe you need to do some research and get some of your facts straight @NedyNad. Vallance owns shares in a pharmaceutical company (GSK). GSK's vaccine is not yet approved and on the market, so it is not "our pathetic excuse for a vaccine" yet.

Do you have a link about Whitty owning shares in AZ or Pfizer, I haven't been able to find anything?

Oh, did millions of people die during this meningitis pandemic in the 90s? I am sorry, I didn't realise.

I research everyday thank you. I love research. I read everything. The good. The bad. The bullshit. What researching have you done? Or do you just see conspriacy theorist on everything that doesn't match your narrative?

Millions haven't died of Covid the NHS themselevs have confirmed this, this informantion is available on the NHS website. This is available on the GOV website. You just refuse to even take a look because it doesn't support all the doom and gloom you get such a huge kick out of.

What are your qualifications, @NedyNad?

Specifically.

rabbitcow · 11/03/2021 18:41

@NedyNad - if you have done the research then please can you share links about who owns what shares please?

NedyNad · 11/03/2021 18:41

And millions died in 2019 and 2018 of flu and guess what?????????? you didn't give a shit

You say "I research everyday thank you. I love research. I read everything. The good. The bad. The bullshit. What researching have you done? Or do you just see conspriacy theorist on everything that doesn't match your narrative?"

Are you aware that just reading things isn't actual research! It is the type of comment I see on SM 'Do your research' by that the said poster means 'read the information on alternative sites and YouTube and avoid anything mainstream'.... that isn't research either.

However, you can read research that other peer reviewed scientists have carried out. That's worth reading.

2.6 million people worldwide have died of Covid. Or do you think every country in the world is lying?

Parker231 · 11/03/2021 18:48

Flu and Covid deaths aren’t on the same page. Coronavirus vs. Flu Deaths

COVID-19: There have been approximately 2,622,190 deaths reported worldwide. In the U.S, 529,267 people have died of COVID-19 between January 2020 and March 11, 2021.

Flu: The World Health Organization estimates that 290,000 to 650,000 people die of flu-related causes every year worldwide.

Ladybeard2 · 11/03/2021 18:55

You probably went ahead with the vaccine, and I hope you're fine as many are. I just think it's a disservice if we only hear one side, and sadly the msm are only giving one narrative.
Only you can decide, and do your own research. I know two people who have had the jab, one has been suffering ill health since and was a very healthy lady. The other caught covid two days after and had a mini stroke. I personally think this vaccine is a ticking time bomb and the experiment doesn't end until 2023. This is not me trying to scare you and none of this information is from fb, but we owe it to ourselves to be informed. Also we shouldn't forget that this is not like other vaccines and who knows what the long term effects will be.

rabbitcow · 11/03/2021 18:55

@NedyNad

What is your source for this - the attached paper sets out that annual flu deaths worldwide are in hundreds of thousands, not millions.

My only comment on this is to remember that ANYONE can put ANYTHING on the internet and claim to be qualified and express their opinion on any subject.
Thanks to social media, misinformation & false news spreads like wildfire.

Also remember that as humans, we will be drawn to and mostly read & digest information that fits our way of thinking/feeling and that supports & justifies our existing thought processes.

Hi Infoinfonfo, sorry to hijack. You say “you can read research that other peer reviewed scientists have carried out.” This is what I have been doing and pointing out for months but I am told by other mn users I am wrong in doing so but here you are encouraging so which is it?

frumpety · 11/03/2021 19:56

I know two people who have had the jab, one has been suffering ill health since and was a very healthy lady. The other caught covid two days after and had a mini stroke.

I presume the first lady wasn't offered the jab due to any chronic health conditions that she may not have shared with you and the second person caught covid in the period of time when the vaccine will not protect you and the virus has been recorded as effecting the vascular system and being responsible for strokes.
