Curious to know how many 50-60's have been vaccinated so far under the age category rather than vulnerable or health care?

Northernsoulgirl45 · 03/03/2021 12:43

Nope South East and East England

MrsBennetsnerves · 03/03/2021 12:47
  1. S London and nothing yet. Many of my friends have been vaccinated now, some 60+, some with underlying conditions but there are one or two exceptions.
TheHouseElf · 03/03/2021 13:35

Thanks @Bath789 I'll let them know.

Thanks to @MumbleChum0 I'll have a look and see if I can book something for me.

user1469292281 · 03/03/2021 14:09

I'm in East Suffolk and in my town all over 50s were contacted mid Feb by text to book their jab. Had mine early last week.

hullabaloo68 · 03/03/2021 16:36

Yes 52 part of group 6 though in Suffolk

TheHouseElf · 03/03/2021 19:14

Well, as suggested on here, I've just tried to book a vaccine on the NHS booking system and it says I am not eligible. Sad

recluse · 03/03/2021 20:33

Yes - 52 - no health conditions. Had it almost a week ago and I live in NW London.

ScribblingPixie · 03/03/2021 20:42

No, 57, N London - but read that other bits eg Camden are doing much younger people. DP 60 had his letter today but had his jab a week ago by going on to the NHS site.

chefcarl · 03/03/2021 20:43

nope, SE Lodon

Nsky · 03/03/2021 20:49

Yes, Tunbridge wells, long term health condition , 58

MrsLighthouse · 03/03/2021 20:59

Yes ...myself and husband had ours a couple of weeks ago . Both 56. We live in central London and it depends on the “take up” rate at your GP surgery and the demographic of your area. Guess there are lots of people in our area who are choosing not to have it 🤷‍♀️

oldfatandtired1 · 03/03/2021 21:00

Was 60 in November and first jab on Friday. I’m in Hants.

blueshoes · 03/03/2021 21:08

No - south east London. My GP is only offering to those aged 65 and over.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 03/03/2021 21:40

I'm 51 in Kent and received the text today - haven't made an appointment yet.

AlwaysLatte · 03/03/2021 21:50

Very confused. I just turned 50 a couple of weeks ago and got a phone call today asking me to book a vaccination, but according to the booking website I'm 'not eligible'. I wish the NHS would co-ordinate their booking system. I'll phone to chase it up tomorrow and book it but surely they could do without these (assuming multitudes) of phone calls.

Are you over 60? I've only heard of it working (so far) for those who are 60+ or very nearly 60 (plus carers and those shielding). Worth keeping on trying though if you're in your late 50s as it seems previously the age gradually crept lower without it officially being announced...
Ietthemeatcake · 03/03/2021 22:05

I've already had mine because I volunteer at the vaccine clinic but DH (50) has just been called for his and has it booked for Friday.

Noflora · 03/03/2021 22:16

Try the booking line regularly. The age on the front page isn't very meaningful. My husband is 60 and was able to book last week when the website still said 64. It turns out the day he was able to book was the day his letter was generated ,which he got yesterday. Different areas are clearly going at different speeds and clearly the website can't state an age until most of the country is at that stage.

2020inhindsight · 03/03/2021 22:18

Depends on the population demograph/split in the area and the take up in the priority groups. Husband and I had ours last week South Yorkshire 55 and 50, brother had his this week West Yorkshire 60. We had text from our surgery to invite us, he had to ring the appointment line

maggiso · 03/03/2021 22:25

DH group 7 (60-64) for age got his letter today. So I think it might be a week or so before group 8 get called.

MyCatLovesFish · 03/03/2021 22:37

No. My area of North London is still doing 70s. All my friends in Suffolk in their 50s have had the jab.

My GP is pretty crap generally TBH. It has expanded hugely over the last few years and appears to be entirely staffed by locus and you never see the same person twice. I am resigned to being right at the tail end of vaccinations, though not exactly thrilled about it.

IndigoApple · 03/03/2021 23:01

No. 51 and central Scotland.

Rina66 · 03/03/2021 23:10

54 and 59 here, Hertfordshire, nothing so far.......we did get text about the flu jab in December, we didn’t respond, thought we’d wait for the Covid jab, so we must be on someone’s radar!

Nor did we. When we got the flu jab offer, we were both self isolating and it was just before Christmas. I would normally pay for a flu jab anyway. I just didn't get around to it last year.
Fifthtimelucky · 04/03/2021 09:48

As an update, I received my invitation letter yesterday. I'm 59 (but will be 60 by the time I actually have the jab). I'm in SW Surrey.
