Curious to know how many 50-60's have been vaccinated so far under the age category rather than vulnerable or health care?

OP posts:
potatopot · 03/03/2021 08:53

No, 52, north London

mrsrhodgilbert · 03/03/2021 08:57

Not yet, North Yorkshire

starbrightstarlight8888 · 03/03/2021 09:23

There is a surgery around here that are vaccinating 30 plus. My ex dp has had his and said there were a few around that age being done. He has no health conditions.

MoMuntervary · 03/03/2021 09:30

Those of you that are recommending 'trying online', where are you trying? And did you have a letter before you tried? I've had my first due to being CEV but DH is late fifties and I'm desperate for him to get his asap now the kids are back to school....

starbrightstarlight8888 · 03/03/2021 09:30

The link only works for over 60s at the minute

averythinline · 03/03/2021 09:41

No 50's West London

42isthemeaning · 03/03/2021 09:41

In Scotland. Does anyone know how you'll be called or is it different in every nhs trust?

FlyingBurrito · 03/03/2021 09:45

If you're under 60 and healthy presumably you're being contacted via the GP system so won't it depend on your practice not where you live? I know different surgeries around me are at different stages so no link between a 50 year at one surgery and a 50 year old at a different one

One surgery is getting a lot of local flak for being really slow so you couldn't draw any conclusions is you asked a patient at that particular one.

Online booking won't work for him at the moment as it for 60+ but I don't think it will be long before it moves down in age
MoMuntervary · 03/03/2021 10:14

Thanks @starbrightstarlight8888 and @FlyingBurrito I don't mind being patient - just don't want to miss out on something once he's eligible. Hopefully won't be too much longer.

Chelsea567 · 03/03/2021 10:15

Nope. North Somerset

Lissy50 · 03/03/2021 10:17

Yes, 52, 2 weeks ago, Wales.

zafferana · 03/03/2021 10:18

They're doing 50+ in north London (and I've heard other areas of London too). They have a smaller population of old people, so were able to move more quickly into the younger age groups.

SoCrimeaRiver · 03/03/2021 10:21

I looked on the website yesterday but it's for over-60s only. I've got it in my diary to check again in a fortnight's time to see if I can book DH in then. We know over-60s elsewhere in the country who haven't been vaccinated, so I'm surprised over-50s are being done tbh.

Seeline · 03/03/2021 10:22

Yes DH-57 and I 52 both had ours last weekend. No underlying conditions. Called by our GP who had 7 practitioners giving jabs from 8am to 3pm on the Saturday, with appointments every 5 mins. People were streaming through! South London

It isn't a surprise at all, different areas have different age profile, they go at their own speed and it would be irresponsible for every area to go at the pace of the slowest.
LIZS · 03/03/2021 10:33

Not yet, Surrey , although Jeremy Hunt apparently got his in a different area of the county and a neighbouring surgery to ours has done theirs.

estherfrewen · 03/03/2021 10:53

Yes - North Yorkshire

Catlover10 · 03/03/2021 10:59

Nope-essex

OneMillionSteps · 03/03/2021 12:16

No, not yet, Bristol

Fifthtimelucky · 03/03/2021 12:39

I'm 59 and had my letter today. I'm in SW Surrey. Can't book anywhere closer than 20 miles away at the moment so will try again tomorrow to see if they offer anything more local. There are usually sites much closer so I'm hoping that they will release more slots soon.

Spidey66 · 03/03/2021 12:40

Had it in January-NHS staff

SophieB100 · 03/03/2021 12:40

I'm 59 and in Norwich - not had the vaccine yet.
Am keen to have it asap as I return to teaching full classes next week.
Rang GP surgery to say that I would be willing to come in at short notice if they had any vaccines unused at the end of the day, but they said that they are not doing this, and I will get a text/letter as soon as they move onto my age group. Can't come soon enough.
I know of other GPs in the area who are using a 'waiting list' for unused vaccines - it varies between different doctors.

Spidey66 · 03/03/2021 12:40

Oh I'm in London
