Carers Allowance/online booking of vaccine

It now states that people in receipt of CA can book online for a vaccine (on the very first page) however when I try I check the 'not health care worker or care worker' and it doesn't let me go any further for booking. Has anyone managed to book a vaccine this way yet as a carer receiving CA?

I've just tried too and you're right, they've updated the front page without adjusting the category boxes.

I haven’t been able to book either . I get the same message. It’s frustrating as I’m in group six but haven’t been contacted yet and my gp are unaware I receive carers allowance

If they haven't adjusted the boxes then officially the nearest your new is health or social care worker as a carer in receipt or carers allowance to a disabled child or adult (who are in receipt of PIp bc you wouldn't get CA if they don't get Pip)

I saw someone said earlier that we would be able to book online from Thursday so maybe this is just an initial blip? I was so pleased then dashed!

I'm pretty sure it isn't restricted to only Carers who receive Carers Allowance.

Anyone reading this who hasn't already, do make sure your GP has you coded as a carer.

@ViperAtTheGatesOfDawn Not at all but I could see the online booking being that way as easy to cross reference with a CA database. But not so just yet it would seem.

Of note:
It says eligible for CA not receiving CA, many carers are eligible in terms of how much care is provided, but earn over the threshold.
You do not need to take evidence of carer status to the vaccination centre.

I completely agree it will be all unpaid carers regardless of receipt of CA - this was just for the online booking aspect.

From what I've read it's not linked to the CA database, it is based on GP coding.

@ViperAtTheGatesOfDawn group six is being pushed through GPs as it is a complicated group. I think the theory is to take out those receiving CA as that is an easy database to correlate I would think. The Gov booking site particularly talks of those in receipt of CA. Therefore I felt it wasn't coming from the GPs but rather from a central list of those who receive CA. Leaving the GPs with those that are coded on their records as carers and the rest of Group six.

What browser are you using? Are you trying it on a phone? I tried to book using Safari on my iPhone and it wouldn’t work but when I used Brave (a different browser) it worked for me :)

Tried on laptop. Still not working!

I've just looked at it doesn't say anything about carers allowance ? Only health workers and social workers ?

Ah yes I see. Just tried the desktop PC and it won't let me book

I don't get averse because I work but have already had my vaccine due to work!

But I did find it odd I could book mine as DS 16 carer but cannot book his and he's the one at risk.
