..can they fuck.

There maybe plenty of reasons why they have too but to lie that it's safe is deplorable.

@mumsneedwine You've posted hundreds and hundreds of times about this, it seems to consume your life. I muted the coronavirus topic for a month, came back and you're still at it. I'm glad you've realised all you can do now is not go into work. That's fine, it's your life, and your choice, and you've posted it 10 times on this thread alone. What more do you want?

Rosannarosannadanna · 22/02/2021 21:22

Have things changed in the 15 years since I left school as all children seem desperate to go back?

I fucking hated the place from the moment I set foot in it aged 5 to the moment I left aged 18. And yes, I did have friends and no, I did not struggle academically.

DS is the same. It was a relief to homeschool him. We started when he was in year one and have never looked back.

piggywaspushed · 22/02/2021 21:22

No, but I think the police should be vaccinated as it goes..

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 22/02/2021 21:23

@BeakyWinder so if you had a weak heart, then a global pandemic arrived, it wouldn't consume your life?

You'd distract yourself with crochet, perhaps?

Randomschoolworker19 · 22/02/2021 21:23

This sums up what I think.

Myothercarisalsoshit · 22/02/2021 21:24

So sorry you've been put in this position @mumsneedwine Good for you for going sick. I heard tonight that one of my friend's co - workers, a fit and healthy 43 year old, died of COVID just before half term. A deputy head.
I get that parents are fed up, I really do. I work in a very disadvantaged area and I fully understand that my class need to be with me. I am so looking forward to having them back and getting them back on track but surely people can see that people will get sick and some of those people will die?
What many posters seem to be saying on here is that they know that it's not safe but actually they're pretty happy to let school staff take that risk. Well fuck you very much. I hope you understand that schools are hanging by a thread. All those little extras, all those things that bring such happiness - the fun, the extra resources, the treats, the enthusiasm - that all comes from teachers. There's none so blind as them that will not see I suppose.

Ostryga · 22/02/2021 21:24

@mumsneedwine if you’re vulnerable you don’t need to wait for an invite, you can book yourself a vaccination via the nhs website.

Apologies if this has already been said!

piggywaspushed · 22/02/2021 21:24

My DS likes school well enough rosanna and works hard but he is totally phlegmatic about going back. Certainly not jigging about.

P999 · 22/02/2021 21:24

Mumsneedwine. I dontknowwhereyou live, but why not call your GP surgery and ask to be put on the reserve list for a vaccine, instead waiting for your invite? Everyone I know who has done this has been offered vaccine pronto.

MarshaBradyo · 22/02/2021 21:24

@Randomschoolworker19

This sums up what I think.
No vaccines on that
piggywaspushed · 22/02/2021 21:24

That is not true ostryga. I keep seeing this on MN.

Psychobobble · 22/02/2021 21:24

@piggywaspushed

Teachers no more at risk than farm workers apparently

That is definitely not what the data says.

In full agreement here Piggy. Farm workers in lowest risk group.

What does concern me is how poor some teachers apparently are at reading and understanding statistics....

Randomschoolworker19 · 22/02/2021 21:26

No variants either.

It is because I booked myself in yesterday and had the jab today - Group 6
piggywaspushed · 22/02/2021 21:27

I think you copied the wrong reply there!

MarshaBradyo · 22/02/2021 21:28

No variants either.

So what do you want lockdown for how long?

mumsneedwine · 22/02/2021 21:28

@BeakyWinder 😂😂😂 passive aggressive ? As a study in this please read this comment. It's almost like MN is not a free discussion site.

piggywaspushed · 22/02/2021 21:28

Well ostryga most gp 6 have emphatically been told, NOT to do that. You can't get past the first page. Also, to another PP not all GPs do the vaccines and have reserve lists.

psycho you are right but it isn't confined to teachers! I often wonder what Boris would get if he wasn't flanked!

mumsneedwine · 22/02/2021 21:29

You know, I'd never thought of trying any of those ideas ! If they worked I'd be jabbed by now 😞

CKBJ · 22/02/2021 21:29

I’d like to know what makes England more “safer” than Wales,Scotland and NI? The other nations are staggering school starts and not even committed to all secondary school pupils returning to face to face learning, how come Covid in England is different?!

BeakyWinder · 22/02/2021 21:29

Crochet would be healthier than posting about covid on the internet, all day and night, for months on end, yeah.

Of course, do what you like 👍

BlueEyes31 · 22/02/2021 21:31

After Easter would have been better, and the teachers should have been vaccinated. I want this to be the last lockdown, but if we rush things we will be back to square one.

mumsneedwine · 22/02/2021 21:31

@CKBJ the magic tape between us all. The virus knows not to breach the magic tape, it's all over schools. So must be safe. Maybe I'll become a farmer instead.

FreekStar · 22/02/2021 21:32

It's stupid to say teacher's are no more at risk than anyone else.
