Hope no-one minds me starting this. Apologies if another has started too. Please can someone add the pretty pictures.

NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

Hi all! I have halvas today. You can tell I'm off work I've been cooking my stress away.

Been for a lovely walk out in the sunshine today and feel so much better.

Excellent news about the vaccine.

BaconAndAvocado · 22/02/2021 15:25

Great news.
I'm so looking forward to getting together with family in our gardens at Easter. Fingers crossed for mild weather!

DCs Years 8 and 9 are both really pleased about going back to school.

Feeling really positive today.

DH naffed off re golf......🤨

TeenMinusTests · 22/02/2021 15:31

Place marking. I need all the positivity this thread can give me.

OrangeBananaFish · 22/02/2021 15:33

I dont get golf being held off. You're going to be allowed to meet a friend for coffee or a picnic outside yet not allowed a game of golf with that friend. I'm saying that as someone who has never played (apart from crazy golf which I'm absolutely crap at)

I'd also heard that J&J we're looking into two doses. Seems fair enough if it's the same chemistry as Oxford AZ.

TeenMinusTests · 22/02/2021 15:45

Orange I wonder if it is a perception thing? Things like golf and tennis are often perceived as MC/UC pursuits. If they can't open up more things more often perceived as MC/WC then some people/papers will be up in arms about 'toffs' prioritising themselves.

Plus by keeping things restricted they are also giving the message that (a) schools are important and (b) things are still serious?

TeenMinusTests · 22/02/2021 15:47

All restrictions could be gone by 21st June! (PM statement)

Now if that happened and CV was under control and stayed under control that really would be good news.

OrangeBananaFish · 22/02/2021 15:48

This has made me happy. Fingers crossed that vaccines keep doing their thing and cases keep declining

@louisejxxx

Excellent news from Scotland - I hope the EU countries enjoy their taste of humble pie, they’ve made themselves look like idiots. (And no - I didn’t vote for Brexit! 😅)
Correction

Made themselves look like idiots again!

(The whole vaccine buying, AZ delay blaming UK then NI border disaster)

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 22/02/2021 15:50

That would be a hell of a solstice.

MrsLangOnionsMcWeetabix · 22/02/2021 15:50

My little bit of good news - DS back at school today and he’s like a different child. So much happier and chattier Smile

OrangeBananaFish · 22/02/2021 15:51

@TeenMinusTests
Crossed posts there. Also you're probably right about golf etc

119 I think

LivinLaVidaLoki - send some halva my way please!! Lived in ME for 7.5 years and I miss it........

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 22/02/2021 15:52

I may have just cried watching bojos announcement. I really hope we can be back to normal by July!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 22/02/2021 15:54

Same here. And the idea that we will know by 12 April whether I can travel to Greece and visit my family!

((passes Halva to @Autumn101))

TeenMinusTests · 22/02/2021 15:55

I'm counting the days to March 29, as DH is getting miserable by not being allowed to do his 'hobby' 3x per week. And no, it's not golf or cycling. Smile It's only 5 weeks away, so the end is in sight hopefully.

ILookAtTheFloor · 22/02/2021 15:57

It was better than I thought! So happy Covid Zero off the table for one thing.

Boris was looking sexy with his hair long GrinGrin yes I know not to everyone's taste!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 22/02/2021 15:57

Also a review regarding face coverings and social distancing which as I understand will be announced on 12 April too.

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 22/02/2021 15:57

Same with my oldest! She can’t wait to start horse riding again!

FourTeaFallOut · 22/02/2021 16:02

My ds2 (11) actually whooped when he heard he's definitely going back to school then he said, "Don't tell my friends I did that!" Grin

Autumn101 · 22/02/2021 16:06

So happy!!! And I think it should be ok to meet family after 29th if we travel a bit?? My parents are 3 hours away and we were meant to be staying nearby which looks like it won’t happen but meeting in a park halfway between us with a picnic would be lovely!

NeedingCoffee · 22/02/2021 16:06

Oh my word, I am SO happy with Boris’ announcement. Just had to say Grin Grin

MarshaBradyo · 22/02/2021 16:13

I’m in a muddy park

But reading lifting SO happy to see stages

I think we are helping them test that in the UK. A friend said something about the trial of it as two doses.
