Hope no-one minds me starting this. Apologies if another has started too. Please can someone add the pretty pictures.

NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

Isn't Dolly wonderful Grin

Love her compassion and generosity

She has always come across as a lovely woman with a big heart

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 03/03/2021 10:10

Omg only just found out she sang, "Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, I'm begging of you, please don't hesitate. Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, because once you're dead, then that's a bit too late."
Grin

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 03/03/2021 10:11

And her dress with the cut out in the sleeve! That’s true style!

OverWintered · 03/03/2021 10:43

Yes! Also loving Dolly's new version of Jolene.... I've been singing it all morning. I'm so ready for my vaccine..... Shouldn't be too long now.
I recommend watching Dolly sing "vaccine"to lift your mood this morning..... here's a link if you haven't seen it yet....

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum

The whole pandemic sounds like a movieGrin

A very bad one we don't want to watch anymore. Though I hear it has a happy ending Smile

Also right before the screen goes blank at the end. Channing Tatum will be taking his shirt off and dancing Grin

Oh Truly you have the best ideas Grin
Inastatus · 03/03/2021 11:47

Love the new version of Jolene!

MadisonAvenue · 03/03/2021 12:41

Dolly is amazing 🤩

herecomesthsun · 03/03/2021 12:59

What I had going round in my head when I got mine:

Thank you for the vaccine
the joy you're bringing
thanks for all the hope it's giving
we can't live without it
I ask in all honesty
what would life be
without the people we love, who are we?

so I say

thank you for the vaccine

for giving it

to

me

However, I spared them the attempt to sing this through my mask Grin I really did have it going round my head as an earworm though.

TJ17 · 03/03/2021 13:24

Haha @herecomesthsun that's a good one 🤣

OverWintered · 03/03/2021 13:35

@herecomesthsun..... Love it! I'm humming that one too now 🎶 😁

OverWintered · 03/03/2021 13:39

Not sure what happened with my cheerful smiley face emoji there.... I think I accidentally clicked on a Grimace.......
Still if anyone could hear my singing it would be quite appropriate

Hello all - silent lurker here - thank you all so much for this thread. I have it saved on my phone and it has improved my mood greatly!

I wanted to ask here as it’s friendly, and a lot of you seem to have had your vaccines....when you book online did you book both appointments? I’ve seen quite a lot of comments suggesting this is the case. My parents (late 60s, CEV) had theirs at start of Feb (yey!) but only booked their first appointment. Worried that they may have missed something asking them to book second...or perhaps the system has only recently changed to book both?

ACovidofWitches · 03/03/2021 15:35

When my parents booked I think the second was booked automatically?

TeenMinusTests · 03/03/2021 15:44

My DM doesn't have an appointment for her second, but if my DF is anything to go by she will have it 11 weeks after her first. (GP rang them for appts at local surgery place).

When DH booked recently online to go to a vaccine hub he was able to book both.

My parents didn't get their second appointments with their first and as far as I know they still don't have them booked in. My understanding is that with a GP hub booking (i.e. responding to an invitation from your GP) you don't have the second one booked in at the time but if you book via the NHS link and go to a big centre you do. Not sure if that is correct though.
apintofwine · 03/03/2021 15:50

@TheChineseChicken aha maybe that explains it. They went to a local rugby club which probably doesn’t count as a local hub(!). I think they did book via the NHS website but that was following a text from their GP. My dad is pretty tech savvy so fingers crossed all is as it should be.

Thank you!

Inastatus · 03/03/2021 16:13

@apintofwine - I booked DH’s via the NHS website but without hearing from the GP first and he went to a big vaccine centre. I had to book both doses in at the same time.

apintofwine · 03/03/2021 16:22

Thanks @Inastatus

I’ve just found a thread asking about a similar thing and it does seem to follow the GP vs vaccine hub theory

Thanks all :)

CornishYarg · 03/03/2021 17:01

The GP hub vs NHS website thing also holds true for my family. PIL were contacted by their GP for their vaccine and don't have a 2nd appointment yet. My parents booked using the NHS link and booked their 2nd appointment at the same time as booking their first one.

carolinesbaby · 03/03/2021 17:09

My county has turned green on the map!

Though my local area has an extra 6 cases on last week. 200% increase, and the local Facebook pages are going bonkers! They didn't say a word when 6 cases = 2% increase.

FuzzyPuffling · 03/03/2021 17:15

When I went for my vaccine (a PCN hub for 5 GP surgeries) I was given a slip of paper with my name, NHS number and the date of my second vaccine on it.

DH had his vaccine at the same place two weeks earlier and wasn't given a date for his second vaccine. Apparently. the GP will contact him.

Sounds like they are refining their systems all the time.

MadisonAvenue · 03/03/2021 20:03

We were told that we’d be called by our surgery in 8-12 weeks to book our second vaccine.

ACovidofWitches · 03/03/2021 21:56

I feel like these threads have slowed down in the last couple of weeks. Do you think it's because things are genuinely looking up enough that there isn't the same need for people to check in and get a dose of positivity? We've become so unused to having a run of good news. It's all so surreal isn't it? A new virus appeared and the world shut down. I still find it hard to believe that's what really happened. But now we're coming out of it all as much as it's possible to come out of a situation like this (as in, viruses don't just disappear)

UmbilicusProfundus · 03/03/2021 22:05

I agree the good news has slowed down a bit on this thread! But yes hopefully it’s because the good news is so established it’s not so newsworthy any more!

I did notice that finally the hospitalisations figure has been updated for the first time in ages. Most recent figure is 725 admissions on 27th Feb. Under 1000 again, for the first time since mid October!

Evidencebased · 03/03/2021 22:24

I booked online, and it automatically gave me the 2nd appointment.

There is a " manage your bookings" option, so this might be a way of double checking if a 2nd appt has been allocated: online booking for hubs only, not via GP. Different GPs seem to be styling it their own way.

Thanks for these threads.
