Hope no-one minds me starting this. Apologies if another has started too. Please can someone add the pretty pictures.

NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

I thought they had slowed down too, but all I could think of was saying that deaths and cases have gone down again. I do think it's like you have said, now we are coming out there is no actual extra good news so it is becoming the norm. Suppose that's good news in itself

The immune response to COVID-19 vaccines in patients with certain immunosuppressed conditions is set to be examined in a new study.

No doom headlines to correct or reassure people about etc

I think that is part of why the thread is slower

That and the weather finally got a bit better. People are going out for walks or gardening again Smile

TeaInTheGarden · 03/03/2021 23:44

2 more days of home school!!
That’s definitely good news 😆

Strong T-cell response is good news for battle against Covid variants

My area has "gone white" on the cases map. My DF is over his infection and I'm taking my mum for a coffee on Monday. 🙂

louisejxxx · 04/03/2021 06:49

I’m so excited because my home schooling days are done! They have a no screen day today for World Book Day, and tomorrow they are in school,

Don’t know how I’ve survived a 2nd stint of home Ed...when we got to the summer hols I said “never again” 😅🤪

TheChineseChicken · 04/03/2021 06:52

Here’s my good news run down:

  1. Vaccination programme is going really well
  2. Numbers are looking great and starting to really plummet
  3. Transmission data for vaccines is looking incredible
  4. As posted above, vaccine T cell responses look promising against variants
  5. The scary Manaus case study, where it looked like they had reached herd immunity then everyone got reinfected (I paraphrase) has been debunked
  6. It’s spring
  7. I only have to do 0.5 days more homeschool
  8. I have an itinerary of lovely things to do over summer, to the point where I feel too busy (oh, the irony)
TheChineseChicken · 04/03/2021 06:55
  1. I’ve just snuck into the next group for vaccines after group 9
FuzzyPuffling · 04/03/2021 07:44

I love your summary The Chinese chicken. That's lots of good news!

TheChineseChicken · 04/03/2021 08:23

Considering this time last year most of us really had no concept of how serious the covid situation was going to be, we’ve come a long way

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 04/03/2021 08:30

I missed the Manaus good news- could someone please point me in the right direction?

That's positive news if ever I heard it.

JemimaPyjamas · 04/03/2021 09:42

Can someone post an ‘incredible’ transmission link? (Can’t look too much as meant to be home schooling - ugh)

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 04/03/2021 09:45

Thanks very much CornishYarg. Love Sailorroscout!

Imfedupwithallofthis · 04/03/2021 10:04

Motorina · 04/03/2021 10:24

Can anyone help me find a table, please? It was on the efficacy of the Oxford vaccine, I think based on the Scottish rollout. It was a very simple table - two columns, perhaps four lines.

The left hand column was 'types' of covid (asymptomatic/symptomatic/serious/death or similar) and the right-hand was the protection given by one jab against each of those.

I know I've seen it or followed a link to it from a mumsnet thread somewhere, probably this one, but I now can't find it.

Thankyou!

Ok, which greedy 75-79 year olds have had two first doses?
