Hope no-one minds me starting this. Apologies if another has started too. Please can someone add the pretty pictures.

NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 01/03/2021 17:51

Month

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 01/03/2021 17:52

I normally pretty much like everything JVT says 🤓

FourTeaFallOut · 01/03/2021 18:15

I'm early 40s, I had a full head of perm with a back combed fringe that added an extra 2 inches to my height at 12 years old. My mother fought me all the way until I could prove I was the only girl in class not rocking this poodle look and I thought I looked amazing (because I did 😛).

herecomesthsun · 01/03/2021 18:46

CEV so already needled.

Littlebelina · 01/03/2021 18:49

My hair was too fine to hold a perm so avoided the bonnie tyler phase.

Pomegranatespompom · 01/03/2021 18:50

I had a perm despite already having big hair.

I have since mastered the bouncy blow dry (Revlon one brush - it’s amazing).

Great figures today.

Plus I had my 2nd dose.

Willing all other 40s to be done ASAP.

FuzzyPuffling · 01/03/2021 19:11

I've had a bit more energy today and have managed to do several things...ONS visit for bloods and swabs, made biscuits,(we're allowed one a day on our diets!) a walk and cut half the grass (DH did the other half).

That's better!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 01/03/2021 19:13

You make biscuits then only eat one 😯

You have a lot more restraint than me

Glad you're feeling better ❤

FourTeaFallOut · 01/03/2021 19:36

Is this new news or have I missed this somewhere?

"Johnson & Johnson applied for vaccine approval in UK late last week – POLITICO" www.politico.eu/article/johnson-johnson-applied-for-vaccine-approval-in-uk-late-last-week/amp/

No this is new. All week everything I could find has said 'The will be seeking approval soon' or similar.

Well done ❤

Excellent news and they keep that quiet. At least we know they are now working on approval Smile

Pomegranatespompom · 01/03/2021 20:37

So glad to see you are feeling better @FuzzyPuffling

OrangeBananaFish · 01/03/2021 20:39

Yes great to see fuzzy

Great stats too today.

Looking forward to the approval for J&J soon. Have we got any ready to go as soon as its approved do we know?

One biscuit only because I am losing weight...22lbs down since December.

tobee · 01/03/2021 22:00

Well done Fuzz and glad you feel bit better.

tobee · 01/03/2021 22:00

Ooh that felt a bit overfamiliar calling FuzzyPuffling "Fuzz"

FuzzyPuffling · 02/03/2021 08:15

That's ok tob!! 😁😁

ArianaVenti · 02/03/2021 10:35

I haven't managed to keep up with the thread recently but don't think anyone has posted these - apologies if so (not directly covid but positives from the covid shitshow).

The potential reduction in hiv infections is particularly positive i think:

www.tht.org.uk/news/lockdown-sex-ban-could-break-chain-hiv

And the development of rna vaccines meaning we could vaccinate against malaria is amazing:
academictimes.com/first-vaccine-to-fully-immunize-against-malaria-builds-on-pandemic-driven-rna-tech/

Inastatus · 02/03/2021 14:20

@ArianaVenti - thanks for those links. The news regarding a potential malaria vaccine is fantastic!

TeaInTheGarden · 02/03/2021 16:19

And here we go. Deaths are really starting to plummet, the rate of decline is increasing week on week which is absolutely fantastic. These vaccines really are incredible.

Good News part 11 - Picnics galore as we head into spring
TeaInTheGarden · 02/03/2021 16:20

That should say, the week on week decline is increasing daily!

Frazzled2207 · 02/03/2021 16:46

it is - the week on week case count is currently down 29.4% it was hovering at only about 11% a week ago.
Deaths down 36% which I think is the highest I've seen it, usually in the twenties.

Frazzled2207 · 02/03/2021 16:47

another good thing is the missing mutant strain person has been narrowed down to less than 400 houses. You'd think there'd be a good chance of tracking him/her down now. Hopefully people are knocking on doors.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 02/03/2021 17:30

4k less people in hospital with covid this week Smile

louisejxxx · 02/03/2021 17:36

That deaths graphic is something to behold @TeaInTheGarden - the decreasing rate going up by now more than 1% a day?! Incredible!
