Hope no-one minds me starting this. Apologies if another has started too. Please can someone add the pretty pictures.

NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

‘But they thought they could manage more so booked in another 125 people to see how it went...and they did it.’

That’s such a brilliant, can-do attitude!

FourTeaFallOut · 01/03/2021 12:05

That’s such a brilliant, can-do attitude!

And this is why the optimists should rule the world

Anyone else think that the vaccines minister looks like Ming the Merciless?

Ha ha, yes! I'll now have "Flash! Aa-ah!" running through my head whenever I see him on TV.

A million a day would be fantastic!
And great to hear they’ve been keeping vaccines back for the second doses already, and it’s not really had a massive impact on the daily first doses yet.

louisejxxx · 01/03/2021 16:03

5455 cases today!! 🙌🏻 Strange how it’s suddenly started falling again after dipping to 10% rate, seems to have picked back up again (not that I’m complaining)

Frazzled2207 · 01/03/2021 16:14

Amazing it's just above HALF what it was last monday (10641).

WoW case numbers are tumbling
over last 7 days
cases are down nearly 29%
deaths are down nearly 35%
hospitalisations are down 22%

fadingfast · 01/03/2021 16:15

The case numbers are amazingly good today, almost too good to be true. I think I have become so conditioned to hearing the relentless bad news over the past 12 months that I can’t quite believe it when it appears to be good news Confused

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 01/03/2021 16:16

Who else did a double take at today’s figures?

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 01/03/2021 16:18

There is always a dip on Monday from the weekend slow reporting but even so that is dropping of a cliff edge now rather than a dipGrin

bathsh3ba · 01/03/2021 16:18

Yes, the stats are great today. I'm sure the deaths are falling faster than cases did at the point the cases feed into deaths, IYSWIM.

Last Monday was the day when cases were slightly up on the week before, so the bonkers high fall is partly because of that- however even over two weeks it’s still an excellent drop.

You are ok

Sure some muppet would pop over and point it out if you didn't.

The excitement over the Brazilian missing case is interesting. Some people are wetting themselves to predict all vaccines are now 0% effective or something

Pretty weird as the experts are still saying all should have a decent amount of effect. At the very least enough to stop serious illness. I don't get why someone would fixate on a narrow possibility of a problem. The government and experts calling it a concern just means something to watch closely and investigate further🤷‍♀️

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 01/03/2021 16:59

But are you old enough to have had a Michelle Fowler hairdo? 😱😂
MarshaBradyo · 01/03/2021 17:05

Truely I don’t think so just missed it 😬

How old do you have to be?

I’m 46 - just realised you might be really young and think that ancient 😂

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 01/03/2021 17:43

The 80s. So you would be a trendy 5 to 15 year old if you did. I think Smile

We are the same age. I will be 47 soon.

herecomesthsun · 01/03/2021 17:49

lol. big hair. I had that. Smile

MarshaBradyo · 01/03/2021 17:50

Definitely not trendy at pre 15

So I missed that phase luckily!

I like JVT saying data vindicates vaccine approach
