Hope no-one minds me starting this. Apologies if another has started too. Please can someone add the pretty pictures.

NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

The government link says that people testing positive more than once are only counted once. So hopefully that means anyone testing positive via a LFT which is then confirmed by another positive test via a PCR test is only counted once. But who knows?

I agree it would be much better to separate out the PCR and LFT cases.

OrangeBananaFish · 28/02/2021 10:43

Will see how it works when we get them. DS is going into school twice this week for his LTF tests before he starts on the 8th. DD1 is going in next Tues and will be starting then (assuming she tests negative of course)

In other good news I have washing on the line for the first time this year and its still only February (just)!!!!!

Perhaps it’s a case if if you go and book a lab test there is a tick box for “I have had a positive ltf” so it cancels that one out that way. But it can’t be that easy to cross reference. I wonder if some bod somewhere is having to do it manually.
DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/02/2021 15:11

Thanks for the info. I’ll get a few LFTs to have here. Looks like you can order online form tomorrow.

DH gets one a week at work, but it would be good to know myself. As I’m the one most in contact with school etc.

FourTeaFallOut · 28/02/2021 16:19

7 day case average has tank to 8720.71 as the case rate came in at 6035!

20 million first doses administered.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 28/02/2021 16:48

🥳❤

OrangeBananaFish · 28/02/2021 18:58

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my records (just a spreadsheet on my laptop) show that the last time cases were over 10K was Monday so if we get less than 10K cases tomorrow it will be a week of 4 figure cases.

That's what my scruffy piece of paper says, too.

Low tech here.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 28/02/2021 19:32

It’s also what Worldometer says (hi tech Smile)

ACovidofWitches · 28/02/2021 19:38

Just brilliant to see cases and deaths dropping so much. And the sun this last couple of days has made life feel brighter.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 28/02/2021 19:40

Last day of February

I know you should wish your life away but still

Last day of February

January felt like at least 6 months long. February hasn't been as bad but still mostly cold, dark and doomsters riddled news.

March promises to be warmer, sunnier weather and full of hope with lotsof things look forwards too Smile

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 28/02/2021 19:41

*Shouldn't 🙄

OrangeBananaFish · 28/02/2021 19:56

I felt like January flew by and Feb just dragged. Now I'm on countdown to the various dates I'm hoping March flies by too.

This weekend has been exactly what I needed. Gorgeous sunshine, long walk with DH and DCs and an ice cream, and a sadly too infrequent walk and catch up with a dear friend who is shielding (plus sneaky coffee in her garden). Almost felt like normal life. One more week of homeschool, which feels like a giant milestone!

It’s amazing the difference that warmth and sun makes.

OrangeBananaFish · 01/03/2021 08:20

Its March!!!! We can say goodbye to winter and hope for a good spring.

Taking DS for his lateral flow test this morning. Really hope its negative. Also keeping an eye out to order home kits for me and DH as DD2 is still in primary. It's not open yet though.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day

Glorious weekend. Happy march everyone. Well done, we made it through the hardest winter ever- at least in my lifetime!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 01/03/2021 09:17

Apparently the vaccine minister was on TV this morning and has said vaccinations will double this month! Possibly getting to a million a day Grin

JemimaPyjamas · 01/03/2021 09:30

Really? That's fabulous. DH needs his soon (not CV and only just 50, but still in group 9) so we can both have been zapped!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 01/03/2021 09:34

I haven't seen the interview yet myself but yes.

It sounds like he said they have been holding vaccine back for the second doses. Also the next 10 weeks will be very massive.

I will watch it when the baby naps and I can hear it😳

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 01/03/2021 09:40

Around here now all the 50s we know have either been jabbed or have an appointment. They are still working through the cev though.

I am late 40s and could be done by middle of month at this rate

On the news yesterday they had some pop up tents being used in London. To bring vaccine into so of the low take up areas.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 01/03/2021 09:42

That’s amazing progress Truely!

Autumn101 · 01/03/2021 09:53

Hurrah it’s March!! The sun is shining, my daffodils have flowered and just got our first choice secondary for DS2 and the mornings stats and news look amazing!!!

CornishYarg · 01/03/2021 09:55

Happy March! I did another vaccine marshall shift yesterday which was the first one I've done when there hasn't been snow on the ground. This is definitely good news for me personally as I'm either stood outside or right by an open door!

My shifts are at a small pharmacy with 3 vaccinators. The maximum they're expected to do is just under 400 jabs a day in total. But they thought they could manage more so booked in another 125 people to see how it went...and they did it. So one small pharmacy did just over 500 jabs yesterday - really impressive.

FuzzyPuffling · 01/03/2021 10:42

Ooh CornishYarg well done your pharmacy ( and you) That's a lot of arms.

OrangeBananaFish · 01/03/2021 10:45

500 for a small pharmacy is great. Also a million a day. That would be amazing.

DS's LTF came back negative, but he was sent away without knowing the result so I had to wait for an email. Its good that it was negative. I keep checking the Gov website to order some LTF for me and DH, but the site just says available from 1st March. Hope I'm not looking in the wrong place. I really would like to take one before I start my new job next week. So was hoping I could order some today and they would come before the weekend. Anyway, it is what it is I suppose.

The fog has lifted and it looks like its going to be a beautiful day here. Looking forward to my walk later.
