This is a continuation of the previous thread, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4155962-10-million-people-vaccinated-already-brilliant

This thread is intended as a positive place to discuss our remarkable vaccine rollout as it progresses and to celebrate the ever increasing numbers as we go.

Polite notice: conspiracy theorists, doommongers and those looking for endless debate over vaccine efficacy, leave vs remain or anything else along those lines - this is probably not the thread for you.

So, to pick up from where we left off... a mind-blowing 16,875,536 people in the UK have now received their first dose of the vaccine - that’s 32% (or 1 in every 3.1) of all UK adults.

Every day, hundreds of thousands more people are gaining excellent levels of protection against this sodding virus. So, let’s keep jab jab jabbing our way onwards, upwards and out of this. Covid, we’re coming for ya!!!

Faaaahkin ell!

Dare we hope for 750k tomorrow 🤣

Bordois · 19/03/2021 14:28

This thread is 1 month old in that time we have done around 9.5million first vaccinations. I'm not clever enough to work out what percentage of the eligible population that works out to 🤣

CaveMum · 19/03/2021 14:37

Those are amazing numbers!

I think we would have done them personally if we were allowed 😂

Though some posters have or at least managed the queues etc. Well done all you volunteers Flowers

On a slightly different note. After weeks of saying AZ should only be used for under 65s. France are now saying it should only be used by over 55s.

I think their experts may actually be the Muppets. No offense to Kermit and miss piggy.

‘I had my first jab this morning - didn't get a sticker though, I feel cheated‘

I expect there are sticker supply problems.
Maybe the Europeans are hoarding all the stickers.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 19/03/2021 14:59

I can see the headlines now

EU leaders ban vaccine sticker exports

yellowspanner · 19/03/2021 15:13

I had mine a while ago at a big centre and got my sticker.
I agree the EU will be preventing the export of stickers
They will need them to be in 27 languages.

Mumoftwoinprimary · 19/03/2021 15:18

Round about now the 50% + 1 vaccine is taking place.

JAB!

And now more adults in the UK are vaccinated than not.

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s confirmation!

Mumoftwoinprimary · 19/03/2021 15:20

We are also over 2 million for second jabs. 2 million of our most vulnerable people are now as protected as they can possibly be.

No they just need to be in English but all capital letters

@Mumoftwoinprimary
ah yes notice we're not quite there UK wide yet (although as you say we probably are just the numbers need catching up). Tomorrow hopefully.

DdraigGoch · 19/03/2021 16:39

660,276 is a bloody good result today. I reckon 700k tomorrow.

Mumoftwoinprimary · 19/03/2021 16:43

And just to add to this glorious jabbing day - deaths over the last week have fallen to below 700!

PuzzledObserver · 19/03/2021 16:57

Delighted for the 50% figure... but so sad to see London so far behind :-(

HAd mine today 😁

Februarycat · 19/03/2021 18:09

Got mine tomorrow, I'm quite nervous about having it

callthevet · 19/03/2021 18:14

I was so pleased that it didn't hurt. I'm a baby with needles and the flu jab hurts me. Everyone told me this wouldn't hurt and I assumed they were just tough nuts. But I genuinely didn't feel it.
