Husband knows of 3 people now who have 'booked their vaccines online' it's really bugging me as the NHS online system clearly states only to book if you're eligible. None of these people are! How are they doing it? Do you know anyone who has done the same? I'm obviously not going to book mine as I'm not eligible

You can’t book if you aren’t eligible. They will fit a criteria ( bame , poverty etc) I work for the nhs . Please don’t , what ever you do ring you’re surgery to complain . I’m sick of hearing it

Sunnydays999 · 19/02/2021 17:12

Do not ! Should say

covetingthepreciousthings · 19/02/2021 17:13

Maybe your husband isn't aware of the underlying conditions they might have.. or maybe they've been given access via work?

Who knows, either way, they won't have been able to book without being eligible so I wouldn't think anything of it.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 19/02/2021 17:13

I wouldn't do that, thank you. I'm asking how and why they've been able to book it? You've said they can't but they have. I wanted to hear from someone who knows why

Sadly not true in the case I know of. No eligibility and very early 30s.

No my post is accurate, they're not eligible

You can technically book online if you lie but you have to prove it when you get to your appointment so I hope people haven't done that! I volunteer with a charity helping terminally ill people in their homes so I have been offered the vaccine as a social care worker. I went online and filled it all in and you have to tick to say you are a social care or health worker. I have to take my charity ID when I go or they won't allow me to get it.

HereIfYouNeedMe · 19/02/2021 17:15

@TenaciousOnePointOne see this is it! I'm so confused!! I'm not angry with those who have booked or the fact I haven't. Just confused!

Duckyneedsaclean · 19/02/2021 17:15

You just have to click that you're a frontline healthcare worker and you can book. So they're probably doing that and lying.

Sunnydays999 · 19/02/2021 17:15

AIso bmi / blood pressure and gestational diabetes when combined with another factor get you up the list

This is what I said. If they've lied they'll be embarrassed on arrival! And rightly so Happy you're getting yours 😊

You cannot book on NHS website if not eligible - I've tried. They may have booked via the thing Nottingham (& others) are using - can't remember the name- but you can book on there. However they are checking id when you turn up and if not in an eligible group they are turning people away. Hopefully with a loud flea in their ear for being selfish pigs.

JaquelineBeanstalk · 19/02/2021 17:17

Your husband knows of three people. How does he know? Does he have proof that they have actually been able to book? Does he know under what categories they claimed eligibility? Are you suggesting they lied about their age or medical conditions to get a vaccine? Can you ask them?

HazeyJaneII · 19/02/2021 17:17

I don't think it is possible to do this?

Pizzaandgarlicdip · 19/02/2021 17:17

My friend had this. Late 20s, no health conditions. She was wrongly put on the shielding list so has also been given a vaccine early.

Also you may not know other people’s reasons. I know someone who has already had theirs because they are a carer for their parents and have to inject one of them every day but most people don’t know that.

OliveTree75 · 19/02/2021 17:17

My friends husband got his weeks ago. Hes mid 30s, no health conditions and works from home for the council. Somehow got it through work.. She hasn't had it yet and she is type 1 diabetic

None of the things you've listed for the criteria to book on the nhs online booking system. None.

We're south east. And yes, this!!! I hope they do! To reiterate, these people are not eligible. No combined health conditions

My husband drives me mad not getting all info but he works with them and they've kind of shrugged with a 'I've booked mine' he's asked if it was through the NHS website. Just want to know if this was a common thing as I certainly didn't think so! Hopefully they're all just full of it!

If he works with them, I'm sure he doesn't know each of their full medical backgrounds so I'm not sure you can be fully certain they aren't eligible in some way, it might just be that they haven't discussed all their ailments or conditions with your husband?

True but don't be so casual about it in an office setting if you're not willing to explain why. Also sent a screen shot to the WhatsApp work group. Basically telling everyone 'See! Go and book yours!' Type of thing.

How could you know if they're not eligible though?

Winecurestiredness · 19/02/2021 17:26

im only 28 but look much younger, more like 17 apparently Hmm. i got offered the vaccine because i had lymphoma (immune system cancer) two years ago, stem cell transplant, nearly didnt survive. 2 years later by some miracle i dont look awful like i did then. Can you imagine the looks i had when i was lining up with the over 70s a few weeks back?! Grin Blush

HereIfYouNeedMe · 19/02/2021 17:26

It's clear I'm right here so I'm happy again! Haha, easier to get answers from you guys than a full story from DH 🙄

Happy for everyone who is eligible to get the vaccine, these people included if legit
