Husband knows of 3 people now who have 'booked their vaccines online' it's really bugging me as the NHS online system clearly states only to book if you're eligible. None of these people are! How are they doing it? Do you know anyone who has done the same? I'm obviously not going to book mine as I'm not eligible

@vjg13

Sandgrown, I know exactly how you feel as I know someone who has done as you described and received the vaccine. I was shocked and it has made me question their integrity.
It’s disgusting isn’t it Vjg? I’ve known them as long as DH and I have been together and am close to their kids and extended family. The idea that every single one of them has checked that box to say they are vulnerable or a paid carer and they’ve showed up to chance their luck and hope they don’t get caught is really making me feel like I don’t know them and can’t trust them in future.

Best bit? Only about two months back they were Covid deniers who didn’t believe in the vaccine Hmm.

vjg13 · 21/02/2021 18:55

The thinking of these types of people who have prioritised themselves over the most vulnerable in our society is just appalling.

Cookerhood · 21/02/2021 19:00

I was eligible but not for a medical reasons. I booked through 119 & they told me to take proof with me. I did, but no-one actually asked for it, although I do know others who have been asked.

Absolutely shameful that people are being this deceitful. I really despair for humanity, do people have any morals anymore.

Fruitbatdancer · 21/02/2021 20:38

I got vaccinated today. There were carers/ frontline there and every single one I saw was asked for ID (there a while- an hour wait!) and I asked staff they said NHS national site will only let you book if you are on the list (they’re about 2 weeks ahead of docs sending letters) or if say carer/ frontline, and then they ‘should’ be checked. I guess different centres might apply rules differently but in Kent for sure they’re checking and I saw one person get turned away.

I don’t approve of queue jumping per se, but if as a PP says they could book an appointment at their local centre as @Sandgrown1970 describes, surely it is better that that appointment is used than not? It doesn’t make any sense at all for a centre that could be doing 1000 people a day not to be, if people would get there and there are no supply issues?

I agree appointments should be used but certainly not by barefaced liars who aren’t in any of the priority groups and at no greater risk than many others!

If there were appointments going “spare” then give them to the next groups down or Police/Fire Service/Teachers etc. Not fit and healthy 18 year olds and their equally healthy early 40s parents who all work from home and lied to get the vaccine. They’ve queue jumped in front of 60-64 year olds and Clinically Vulnerable people who know that it’s not their time for their jab yet.

They all received the Astra Zeneca vaccine too so unopened vials last 6 months.

Yerazig · 21/02/2021 22:29

Yes my friend who is 34 has had her jab yesterday. I’m a nanny and there was a few post going around saying nannies were eligible. My friend who is a nanny saw it and booked herself on to it. I showed her confirmed articles saying it was wrong and nannies are not eligible for early vaccine she didn’t care. She had it done yesterday and lied when the guy working saying she worked in a care home. She’s not in bed sick after taking it, which I’m sorry I think is a bit of karma. So yes it definitely is easy to book yourself on and must be hit and miss if you get asked to show I.d

There were 1.7 million people added to the shielding list on Thursday and so eligible to book a vaccine.

A lot of these do not have a health condition from the original CEV list, but have a combination of more minor factors that, added together and weighted using the Qcovid algorithm, makes them high risk.
