How many tests have you had?

I’m participating in one of the Covid studies and have had 5 tests in total. Two were due to symptoms and 3 were due to the study calling me in for tests due to headaches or a rash etc.

I’m happy to do my bit and go for tests when the app suggests it as it all helps to understand the virus more but I just feel a bit embarrassed about having had so many!

I’m in a public facing, frontline role if that’s relevant.

How many tests have you had?

  1. Shielding, had symptoms. Third one was because The hospital asked for it
SingANewSongChickenTikka · 19/02/2021 10:14

3, 2 for symptoms and one study. All negative.

Hundreds - we've been having lab tests weekly since July and lateral flow tests 3 times a week for months as well - none for symptoms, all for work.

I've also carried out hundreds of lateral flow tests on residents of the supported living facility where I work - everyone is tested weekly and again on return if they have been to stay with their parents, plus all visirors have to be tested before they're allowed in.

About 35. I have weekly tests as part of the vaccine trial.

ChocOrange1 · 19/02/2021 10:27

My husband had one - random sampling
My DD had one - she had a stomach bug and temp
Both negative

5 - not for symptoms

But that's because I work in education so have weekly LTF since we went back in January!

All negative.

But I had it last March and had first vaccine 3 weeks ago today.

So hopefully if I ever do get it again it'll be picked up through random testing but I won't have any symptoms 🤞

Unanananana · 19/02/2021 10:40

Three or four. All asymptomatic ones. I started having them fortnightly as reccommended in our area due to high numbers, but you can book more often. I can walk to the test centre, results in an hour.

I've not had to take any tests due to having symptoms.

MrBullinaChinaShop · 19/02/2021 10:40

I’ve had 1 (ONS)
DD’s have had 2 each (symptoms)
DH has had 2 (1 ONS, 1 for symptoms)

All negative

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 19/02/2021 10:45

Three. Two due to reporting mild symptoms (sore throat and chilblains!) on the Zoe app. One due to being invited to take part in the Imperial College study. All negative, thank goodness.

TheAuthorityofJackieWeaver · 19/02/2021 10:48

2 for symptoms, one in April and one in September. Both neg.

Several - maybe 8? - for the ONS study. We are on the monthly tests now.

Lateral flow twice a week.

Blood antibody test in May

All negative!!

Lifeaintalwaysempty · 19/02/2021 10:53
  1. Mix of symptoms, household member being exposed, and getting requested through the Zoe study.
52andblue · 19/02/2021 10:56

None.
I am a 53 year old unpaid Carer for my 2 kids with ASD.
They both attended School 1 afternoon a fortnight ago and I was told they'd have lateral flow tests. They didnt (in fact school had no hand gel and was not ensuring masks either!). Apparently school 'only had enough staff to do tests for the morning kids (there were 9 in total!).
My exH (support bubble) is a bus driver. He has had none either.
About a year ago, I felt rough for 4 days. I didn't take a test as I didn't have a continuous new cough & they weren't readily available either. I've had ongoing low level chest pain. I wonder...
I have just had a vaccine appointment letter. I called the number and asked if that meant I was in a vulnerable group (I didn't think so, but I do have Sleep Apnea so use a CPap machine at night and clinically low VitD and pernicious anaemia but didn't think that was 'enough'). The person on the Vaccine line was unable to tell me. Said to call back Monday as the helpline was still being set up.

None and nor have my husband or one of my daughters.

Other daughter had one as part of the arrangements for university students to come home for Christmas (not because she had any symptoms).

Gilead · 19/02/2021 11:00
  1. I was in hospital with a IC flare, they test every few days.
InterfectoremVulpes · 19/02/2021 11:00

6 - 4 PCR via Zoe App symptom reporting and 2 LFT through work.

All negative.

NormaSnickers · 19/02/2021 11:02

5 PCR - 3 at work (one was part of a study to identify asymptomatic cases, the other two were during an outbreak on my ward)
2 were prompted by the Zoe app when I reported headache/sore throat.
I’ve also had an antibody test and twice weekly LFTs since mid Dec.
All have been negative.

Thedogshow · 19/02/2021 11:04

2 for coughs/colds with fevers, both negative

emmathedilemma · 19/02/2021 11:07

none

Watsername · 19/02/2021 11:11

One antibody test. 4 through school now we have started twice weekly LFTs. The rest through Zoe app. All negative.

Dozens, I’ve lost count.

2 or 3 PCR tests each week at work.
Before and after each work trip, another one to end quarantine after a few days.

All of them negative, and thankfully I’ve never had to take one due to symptoms. I could easily swab my tonsils in my sleep without touching any saliva, though 😂🙈

JanFebAnyMonth · 19/02/2021 11:13

6, all PCR: 2 as the result of Inconclusive results, so 3 in a row (I felt very inept at that point!), 2 from Zoe app, 2 others because of symptoms.
