How many tests have you had?

I’m participating in one of the Covid studies and have had 5 tests in total. Two were due to symptoms and 3 were due to the study calling me in for tests due to headaches or a rash etc.

I’m happy to do my bit and go for tests when the app suggests it as it all helps to understand the virus more but I just feel a bit embarrassed about having had so many!

I’m in a public facing, frontline role if that’s relevant.

How many tests have you had?

5 PCR tests. All negative.

Am a teacher so have twice weekly lateral flow tests. Also always negative so far.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 19/02/2021 09:15

None for DDs and me.
DH had first last week.

DDs were in school last term
I've been at home
DH has continued to go to work throughout, except the odd day WFH.

Donatella · 19/02/2021 09:21

2 PCR, one for symptoms, one recommended by the Zoe app for a headache and sore throat, lateral flow twice a week for the last 12 weeks, and an antibody blood test. So 27 in total. DH has had 2 PCR for symptoms and a home antibody test through the ONS. All 30 have been negative for both of us.

Muskox · 19/02/2021 09:23

None for me, DH and two DC.

One for DC3 (as part of a study not because he had symptoms).

PuzzledObserver · 19/02/2021 09:25

Two. One when I reported a sort throat on the Zoe app (negative), the 2nd when I started coughing after DH had been told there was an outbreak at the care home where he works (positive)

annlee3817 · 19/02/2021 09:32

Two actual tests, one negative and one positive.

Three others for research, when I got my positive test result they asked if I'd do some more and send in the samples for them to use to test the lateral flow test accuracy, also sent a saliva sample

skinwalker · 19/02/2021 09:37

3 all for symptoms

June - negative
September - negative
January - positive

hedgehogger1 · 19/02/2021 09:38

A similar number to you. Twice because I had symptoms and others because the Zoe study asked me to

covetingthepreciousthings · 19/02/2021 09:39

None for me.

Dh I think twice, and DC1 - twice, DC2 once.

mistermagpie · 19/02/2021 09:40

One. Negative.

My DS has had one - positive
DD had one - negative
Other DS one - negative
DH one - negative

It feels like we're always at the test centre somehow but in reality we've only had one each.

motherrunner · 19/02/2021 09:40

1 when had symptoms back in Oct (negative).

I’m a teacher and from after half term we will be having twice weekly tests as we now have a testing site running on site.

PandemicPalava · 19/02/2021 09:41

None

pophop · 19/02/2021 09:43

2 both negative. Both due to feeling horrendous then starting to cough and mild temp.

FunnyInjury · 19/02/2021 09:44

None.

Chosennone · 19/02/2021 09:49

3 due to symptoms, all negative.
1 lateral flow at work (teaching, rota only) negative.

Incyra · 19/02/2021 09:58

Probably about 100 by now!

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 19/02/2021 09:58
  1. A mixture of official symptoms, Zoe app requests due to fatigue and sore throat etc and one private one at the end of my isolation after dc tested positive. All negative.
Incyra · 19/02/2021 09:59

@Incyra

Probably about 100 by now!
Actually feels like it just working it out. No probably 50 Grin feels like 100!
Angel2702 · 19/02/2021 09:59

0 although I did the monthly blood tests for Biobank but I don’t get the results of those.

Stillgoings · 19/02/2021 10:02

2, both negative.

Our Council has just introduced lateral flow tests for people who can't work from home so I am thinking of going there weekly but at the same time I am worrying that I could catch it from being there.

Bostonbullsmumma · 19/02/2021 10:10

3- 1 negative and 2 positive!
DP- 5 - 4 negative and 1 positive!

lughnasadh · 19/02/2021 10:12
