Just found this thread and felt I had to add my experience.
I’m 58, no periods for 3 years and sailed through my menopause. Had my AZ vax on 18 March. A week later I started getting symptoms of PMS. Greasy skin, spots, increased discharge and my boobs were hellishly painful. So uncomfortable at one point, I ended up taking pain killers and considered going to the doctors. They slowly eased off and two weeks later, I had a period. It wasn’t just a bleed, it was exactly like the ones I used to get when I was menstruating. Lasted 5 days - as mine always did. Started the same way, finished the same way. Same quantity.
I googled and petrified myself about what potentially could be wrong, but as I’d clearly had some sort of hormonal surge, I decided to just to wait see and very quickly, everything returned to completely normal again.
I contribute to the Zoe Covid Symptom app and always watch Prof Tim Spector’s weekly update - and this week he mentioned there have been increasing reports of women experiencing either heavier, unexpected or out of kilter periods and cases of post menopausal women like me experiencing a rogue period after several years following their vaccination.
Because it’s something we don’t tend to discuss openly, I do wonder if there are more incidents of this happening than are being reported?
I’ve submitted details of my experience to Zoe and completed the online survey.
It’ll be interesting if there is a correlation and whether I will experience the same when I received my second jab.
