Has anyone in group 6 had any success using the NHS jab booking site?

I am group 6 and have been checking at least once a day. I feel the urge to check about once an hour now and I know it’s not healthy!

Has anyone in group 6 been able to use it yet? I think I want the answer to be ‘no’ because then I can hopefully get over my obsession and resign myself to waiting to be contacted by my GP.

My DH received a text from GP had his this morning group 6 he is 63
But still waiting for my daughters she is 33 and group 6

lucywho123 · 15/02/2021 13:22

My DF is 62 (not CV) - he had his call from GP on Friday and is having the vaccine tomorrow. We're in the East of England

BrokenCircle · 15/02/2021 13:25

I’m group six because I meet one of the bullet points on the list.

I don’t know what the green book is.

Piggywaspushed · 15/02/2021 13:33

The Green Book is a the official list of conditions which often uses vague words like 'includes'. Despite my DH appearing to be group 6 , I ahve not huge confidence given his GP bumped him off the flu vaccine list 4 years ago (as he discovered this year when trying to book!) without telling him.

Link was on another thread. Will try to find.

hartof · 15/02/2021 13:38

I got the text from my gp on Friday and will have mine on Wednesday. I'm in Manchester.

cultkid · 15/02/2021 13:38

I got a text this am to book

I am 28 years old I must be group six because I have a series of health things going on

MyBossIsATwat · 15/02/2021 13:38

Thank you everyone!

So I guess I’ll stop checking the website and switch to checking my phone for a text every 4 minutes.

Who am I kidding, I’ll keep trying the website too just in case something changes. I will post on here to let you all know if it does.

And for the person who asked - I know I’m group 6 as my condition is listed in the green book, and I called my GP to check and they confirmed I am indeed marked as group 6. They couldn’t/wouldn’t tell me what group they are on at the moment though. Sad face.

Group 6 because of 2 bullet points on the list. I also got a text at the beginning of all this telling what to do in the event of catching covid. So not shielding but I know they're aware of me! Still no text though 😩

MyBossIsATwat · 15/02/2021 13:42

@BrokenCircle

My dad had his jab at a vax centre at 6.45pm, he said he was the last one there.

My mum is group 5 and hasn't heard anything. I thought they only finished group 4 yesterday?

LIZS · 15/02/2021 13:48

Still on over 65s here

catmandont · 15/02/2021 13:49

Had a text today for group 6, had to use a link to 'Q Health' to book.
Text said group 6 is from tomorrow, so maybe NHS site won't work till then??

'Q Health' link worked first time, appointment booked for tomorrow

Eccle80 · 15/02/2021 13:50

@BrokenCircle I think one near us goes up to 8pm.
@manicinsomniac some areas had moved on to 5 and 6 earlier if they were ahead, also I think 5 and 6 are being done at the same time with GPs focussing on 6 and vaccination centres on 5.

FebFrosting · 15/02/2021 13:50

Rubbish just through gp. As means some admin person doing it and I can expect to be right at the end of the queue. Going to have to contact Gp by 7 March as I just cannot cope with thought of going back to work in a school with all students with no vaccine. Not had a day off in over 5 years but just had enough. I have two different consultant appointments in March that I am too anxious to go and see without a vaccine.

Angel2702 · 15/02/2021 13:56

My husband got a text to book today for group six but I’ve not heard from my GP for mine.

manicinsomniac · 15/02/2021 14:07

Ah ok, thanks Eccle

Florelei · 15/02/2021 14:07

I’ve just looked on my doctor’s website and they’ve put a notice up saying that they are just waiting for guidance from the government before they can start group 6.

I don’t know what this means but it sounds like group 6 will be started shortly in my area.

pinkhappy · 15/02/2021 14:10

Nope. I think it must officially be group 5. The NHS booking site says

"You can only use this service if any of the following apply:

you are aged 65 and over
you have previously received a letter saying you are at high risk from coronavirus (clinically extremely vulnerable)
you are a frontline health or social care worker"

This doesn't look like group 6 yet.

freezingcoldsnow · 15/02/2021 14:12

My husband is group 6 and no info. He's a carer for DS but was told by the GP receptionist he wouldn't be a priority regardless so I hope it's not GP led as they obviously don't agree with carers being included.

cultkid · 15/02/2021 15:48

So why have I gotten a vaccine invite then

I'm not extremely vulnerable

Skap · 15/02/2021 15:59

A bit more about who does what.

www.gponline.com/gps-begin-cohort-6-covid-19-jabs-15-february-second-doses-1-march/article/1707208

Again it says GP sites are to deliver to group six while proceeding with second doses for earlier cohorts.
It looks like a few group 5s can be done at GP sites rather than mass vax sites but not the other way round.

Boulshired · 15/02/2021 16:17

Where I am, whilst you can book the large hubs if eligible as they are out of area the GPs follow the groups but have not got as much access as the close cities have. GPs in the city hubs have more contact and fill the spare capacity from other groups. So whilst one area is quite a way ahead we have only just done the over 70s and CEV with some having their appointments this week. So the practices are inviting group 5 while quite a few friends from group 6 have already been vaccinated as they live close to the hub. Unless they change the requirements to group 6 booking on line my area has a while to go.

MyBossIsATwat · 15/02/2021 16:22

@Skap

Thanks so much for posting that for absolute clarity.

I did see that the site is intended for medical professionals only but I was naughty and read it anyway 😬
