Welcome to the new thread! I will copy over links from the previous thread soon.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

That's interesting aCovidofWitches, it's good to see the conclusion is that schools don't drive infections but that "...schools tended to get worse hit when the cases around them had rocketed".

This must be reassuring all round, especially given the lower case rate we'll have by March 8th.

CornishYarg · 15/02/2021 17:54

Cheers for the margarita Pom. I'm in one of the original Tier 4 areas and today we've dropped below 100 cases per 100,000 for the first time in ages according to Covid Messenger. We were up at about 1200 around Xmas/New Year so that's over a 90% drop. I'll drink to that!

Shehz21 · 15/02/2021 17:55

WTAF. Mumsnet HQ has gone bonkers. The amount of nasty outside this thread and this absolutely wonderful positive thread gets reported while those vile ones are still there?
How shameful.

And thank you everyone for having contributed to this thread. I attribute a lot of the success, to address concerns and provide reassurance about the vaccines to posters on this group.

I'm not great at adding photos - but that male athlete again. Beats looking at Boris.

Marking my place - these threads have saved me the last few months!

alreadytaken · 15/02/2021 17:59

Too much booze at this picnic for those of eating healthily to try and make the vaccine work better (yes, been jabbed recently) -I'll bring some grapes.

FuzzyPuffling · 15/02/2021 18:00

Gracious...what splendid moobs!

MarshaBradyo · 15/02/2021 18:01

Lol at moobs

@ACovidofWitches

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9262341/Coronavirus-UK-Study-finds-no-evidence-schools-drive-Covid-outbreaks.html

I thought this was reassuring. Schools really don't drive outbreaks - it's not just Boris and his uncaring chums trying to downplay issues and push everyone back to normality. They are just not a risk in terms of pushing up community transmission. Every little bit helps, right?

I can imagine the absolute foaming at the mouth happening to the stalkers of this thread. Sure delete my comment MNHQ. The pile on I got from some posters being absolutely rude to me on another thread that's still standing while my comment got deleted speaks volumes.
MarshaBradyo · 15/02/2021 18:04

It does suck. But let’s go back to the good. I care about you all too much for us to be deleted!

FourTeaFallOut · 15/02/2021 18:06

Absolutely. Pay no mind to them @Shehz21.

Tomorrow is shove Tuesday, so I propose pancakes all round.

Pomegranatespompom · 15/02/2021 18:07

Yes let’s ignore and continue being relentlessly positive.

I actually felt my comment was neutral - didn’t suggest my opinion either way - I must practice my poker writing.

FourTeaFallOut · 15/02/2021 18:08

Shove Tuesday??? Seriously? Shrove Tuesday. I'm going to fall out with my phone big time if it doesn't sort this shit out.

MarshaBradyo · 15/02/2021 18:08

Haha at poker writing Grin

It’s a hair trigger I tell you

janj2301 · 15/02/2021 18:10

When the vaccine was first announced I was very unsure if I wanted it but my boss phoned me at home on my day off, said do you want it today I immediately said yes, never looked back. As it was at the very beginning of the vaccination programme I even got my second jab 3 weeks later just as the government announce there would be 12 weeks between jabs. (I am 68 and work in a GP surgery)

@FourTeaFallOut if you ever want to know or compare deaths, cases or vaccine numbers I've been (sightly obsessively) keeping a note of these since lockdown last year. I find it easier to check figures when compared with the graphs most places have. It looks like this...

@Shehz21

Apologies Marsha! I absolutely love this thread and it has saved my sanity.

I don't have any photos of cute little animals but here's a photo of my little one in the middle of a big yawn!

Beautiful!
Pomegranatespompom · 15/02/2021 18:17
