Welcome to the new thread! I will copy over links from the previous thread soon.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

When the news of J&J single dose came out, they said that would be available in March - wondered if anyone had a idea of this approval was going? Have they applied for it in the UK yet?

That has to speed everything up because people won’t need two appts to get fully vaccinated, just a shot in the arm and done! One appt, double the speed of vaccinations?!

carolinesbaby · 19/02/2021 20:27

Avoiding all other threads tonight.... everyone seems to be going barmy out there!
My good news is DH's antibody test came back and apparently he has antibodies almost off the scale so I am happy about that.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 19/02/2021 20:27

I’ve made a terrible mistake and read another thread! Help me!

MarshaBradyo · 19/02/2021 20:27

I think people get barmier the more good news we get.

Always, like poking a nest of gloom era.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 19/02/2021 20:28

Yes j&j will be great. So far they have applied in America and the EU. Not heard a peep about us and I have been looking. They can't not apply because we have an order. So heaven only knows. We are helping them test it as a two doses vaccine in case that is better. I know that.

Pomegranatespompom · 19/02/2021 20:28

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum

Pom wants to be deleted again 😁
Oh no - was I not cryptic 🤣

You got to love a man with good antibodiesSmile

Especially that one in the bar photo earlier Grin

Crazycatlady83 · 19/02/2021 20:30

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum thanks! I thought we had an order for March so I hope they hurry up and get their approval in (unless it’s already done and been fully buried in a “bad news” day!!)

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 19/02/2021 20:33

Not sure about March. I was thinking April/May but no idea whether came from.

Pomegranatespompom · 19/02/2021 20:35

We’re doing so well with vaccinations, so of course the concern has moved to community transmissions. After that, long. Covid ??

Crazycatlady83 · 19/02/2021 20:37

Sounds more realistic - I’m quoting a old article where they said March!
OrangeBananaFish · 19/02/2021 20:42

Well I'm quite proud of myself. I've not ventured onto the news or the rest of MN since yesterday. Of course I heard the news on the radio, but I tried not to hear it properly. Just need to keep it up for another couple of days now.

DH is making sounds of watching the last leg later. I'm a bit half and half. Not sure if it will add to the gloom a bit, even though its meant to be a comedy show, I'm not convinced that they have the same media agenda as a lot of news outlets.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 19/02/2021 20:46

Watch the last leg. It is like here. Topical but funny 😜

Frazzled2207 · 19/02/2021 20:52

@Gratefulrunner

I’m not sure how true this is but I happened to see the Daily Mail announcing all over 40s to be vaccinated by end of March. That would include me (only just I should add!). Albeit i would quite like key workers to get it too regardless of age
that article is now notably absent from the daily mail website. It was notably lacking in any substance at all.

That all said there are lots of threads on here from mnetters of all ages even in their 20s with no vulnerabilities called up.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 19/02/2021 20:54

It is vaccine escape at the moment I think. Not that they seem to understand how unlike that is with the way the vaccination program is going. Plus is a ridiculously rare thing in the first place.

Transmission agreements should be dead. The news that vaccines a fair amount of some reduction in transmission. That and the high efficiency numbers.

Long covid will be on the agenda for sure. It is a difficult one because some people do seem to suffer more. However that is the nature of respiratory illness from what I have seen.

AlexandraEiffel · 19/02/2021 21:02

@Frazzled2207 it's not gone, it's here www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9276137/Over-40s-Covid-19-jabs-end-March-Vaccine-age-bands-widened-phase.html

In the BBC paper review it looked to be their front page

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 19/02/2021 21:05

I’m glad it hasn’t gone, it’s the kind of Daily Mail article I like.

AlexandraEiffel · 19/02/2021 21:06

The 24/3 for groups 1-9 extrapolation has now been changed to 26/3 here (it was definitely 24/3 earlier)

Level75 · 19/02/2021 21:45

Does anyone else feel like this is their thread? I'm on other MN threads but this one feels like home.

MarshaBradyo · 19/02/2021 21:50

Level totally

Most of the rest of mn is so at odds with how I feel. People wanting lock down etc

Pomegranatespompom · 19/02/2021 21:52

Oh I dint know @Level75 the school threads are generally very comforting
