Welcome to the new thread! I will copy over links from the previous thread soon.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

Pomegranatespompom · 18/02/2021 21:42

I love that it made you laugh @Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum

Honestly I should know better, I mentioned my support for a certain institution opening. Red flag. We are murderers - no less.

There once was a positive thread
Where posts were most joyfully read
But they broke all the rules
By mentioning schools
And filled Michael Mumsnet with dread.

This is not Larkin.

tobee · 18/02/2021 21:50

In other google news did anyone see the Perseverance Mars landing? It was quite tense because the NASA guys were so tense! There was lots of fist bumping and clapping and whooping! I bet they wished they could have hugged instead of socially distance!

I wonder if on Mars posting good news gets deleted? 🤔

Pomegranatespompom · 18/02/2021 21:53

It’s quite odd not being able to mention THAT topic.

FuzzyPuffling · 18/02/2021 21:56

I really want a Mars Bar now.

Pomegranatespompom · 18/02/2021 22:00

I’d really recommend a chocolate orange rabbit @FuzzyPuffling

NeedingCoffee · 18/02/2021 22:00

Some seriously good news from Coronavirus good news on Twitter....

Data from UK’s vaccine rollout reveals just one dose of the Oxford vaccine or Pfizer vaccine cuts transmission by two thirds in all age groups.

This is great news my parents had vax
thatgingergirl · 18/02/2021 22:10

Love the poetry, Fuzzy.

Best news story of the day - rescued turtles in Texas.

Cakefordinner · 18/02/2021 22:12

Hello, just wanted to thank you all. I’ve been lurking for ages but this thread really has saved my mental health! I’ve got gin for the picnic if anyone wants any.

Inastatus · 18/02/2021 22:15

@Cakefordinner - gin you say, you are more than welcome here 😁

Pomegranatespompom · 18/02/2021 22:17

I’d love a gin. I can offer some cheese twists.

I ordered some beauty products to cheer myself up.
We are making such good progress.

This is great. Is it a study?

Off for a look. Hope it’s in the news if it’s a recent study

Bearsbearsbears40 · 18/02/2021 22:30

Can we reference chocolate orange bunnies in the next thread title please?!

On moderating, I hope it’s ok to say that I reported a poster on a thread a good few months ago for scaremongering with obviously incorrect information on Covid, but I was informed that it was allowed to stand. I’m not one for complaining but I struggle to work out the talk guidelines sometimes...

Anyhow, more than happy to get back to the positive news!

I haven't worn make up or used nail polish since last March. I want to wear nice clothes again.

Emlemily · 18/02/2021 22:32

Long time lurker. I love this thread. I work in hospitality and our industry has been battered. Some days when I'm feeling really despondent I love popping onto this thread for some cheerier news. I can offer gin and sausage rolls for the picnic blanket.

alreadytaken · 18/02/2021 22:34

@MarcelineMissouri It's in the telegraph, I can only read the beginning.
