We are having Chinese tonight and making Chinese lanterns with DD7 and DS9 (from Amazon - don’t tell the posters who think lockdown suited the middle class ...)

There has been a lots of good news today , lots of lovely posts. 🤞 @FuzzyPuffling that you hear v soon.

@FourTeaFallOut

I get this earworm everything I see TheChineseChicken

Chickity China, the Chinese chicken
You have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin'
Watching X-Files with no lights on
We're dans la maison
I hope the Smoking Man's in this one
Like Harrison Ford, I'm getting frantic
Like Sting, I'm tantric
Like Snickers, guaranteed to satisfy
Like Kurosawa, I make mad films, 'kay, I don't make films

Glad I'm not the only one!
TheChineseChicken · 12/02/2021 15:49

@FuzzyPuffling

But, ChineseChicken every time I see your user name I want some sweet and sour.
Fair enough
Pomegranatespompom · 12/02/2021 15:50

@JemimaPyjamas I’ve decided not to go on the other threads anymore and I’m still convinced we’ll have a summer holiday !
I did note a couple of familiar names are still coming out with ‘follow the science’ but then don’t follow it 🤔 and ‘I’m afraid’ in response to anything positive.

When someone starts with 'Im afraid...' I can feel myself tensing up! So much can change in the next few months, but 'change' doesn't just mean bad.

I think there's still hope of a nice holiday too, there are a lot of hurdles first but it's only mid February and and a lot can change between now and summer!

PuzzledObserver · 12/02/2021 15:54

We’ve decided to have chippy for tea. That’s good news!

Unless we make it ourselves, we can only have chippy tea on a Thursday, as that's the day the chippy van parks in the village square for an hour. Highlight of the week!
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 12/02/2021 16:03

R number, across the UK has fallen below 1 for the first time since July, suggesting the epidemic is shrinking.

Love that the report uses the word SUGGESTING. No shit sherlockGrin

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 12/02/2021 16:10

Cases 15,144 last Friday 19,114
Deaths 758 last Friday 1,104

Big drops again

Level75 · 12/02/2021 16:14

I've book a week away in the UK mid July and I'm totally confident it will go ahead.

(I also have a few days in April, rolled over from last April - not so sure about that!)

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 12/02/2021 16:15

14 million first doses 🥳

503k given yesterday and reported today 🥳

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 12/02/2021 16:24

Highest number of jabs so far for a Friday.

FourTeaFallOut · 12/02/2021 16:29

That's outstanding, great to see 14m. 15m by Monday maybe?

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 12/02/2021 16:31

Definitely will be Sunday or Monday

Hancock will be very relieved on 15th

TeaInTheGarden · 12/02/2021 16:38

I reckon they will report 15million on Sunday, so it will actually have happened a couple of days before the deadline. We’re probably pretty close now tbh.

Although I’m still waiting on my step mum, who is a carer for elderly in their own homes, to be offered hers. Getting a bit stressed about it tbh as she is group 1 and it seems they’ve been missed. Her employer is trying to sort it, but it’s disappointing to say the least.
Particularly as she lives with my dad who is 64 so a while away yet in group 7. I want her protected as that will protect him too!

FourTeaFallOut · 12/02/2021 16:41

How Hancock doesn't stand on the podium holding up this October article in the one hand

inews.co.uk/opinion/columnists/matt-hancock-optimism-boris-johnson-under-siege-lockdown-measures-728616

And flicking the bird with the other - is completely beyond me.

Level75 · 12/02/2021 16:41

@TeaInTheGarden has she tried the online link? They changed it a few days ago to ask questions re if you're front line - not just age.

SpnBaby1967 · 12/02/2021 16:42

My mum is 65 and been invited for hers next week, shes a bit further north than I am though.

I'm mostly ecstatic that I have finished work and have 10 days off now, I've been run ragged so it's a welcome relief.

TeaInTheGarden · 12/02/2021 16:43

@Level75 oh I didn’t know that. I had checked that myself to see if I could try and book her in 😆 will have a look again, thanks!

Level75 · 12/02/2021 16:44

I only know because I've been obsessively checking on behalf of my parents and noticed the change a few days ago.

Brunt0n · 12/02/2021 16:54

Does anyone know if there’s an online booking link for Scotland? My mum is 63 but works with young children so I’d like to see if she’s able to book..

She should be able to book for herself on the vaccine booking page now, just needs to take proof of employment with her
