Apart from last summer which we do not mention anymore (obvs do not mention the war) the schools have been pretty good. It’s not rl that gets me but posts on mn and inability to say anything.

Having said that we were lumped with a Wellness Wednesday yesterday for yr11. Baboom. Wellness my bottom! Day off more like Shock

Hopefully a one off.

Pomegranatespompom · 11/02/2021 19:52

Cannot mention March - July.
Our school have been good since September too.
Wellness is such a buzzword at the morning. We have a wellness hour but everyone is too busy too attend 🙄

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 11/02/2021 19:53

Ok. Well I will deflect using a long post mentioning

Work shy
Closed
Teachers union
Noblegiraffe
Lazy teachers
Homeschool and wfh being easy
Having a toilet brush

If you two are getting torn apart by wolves

Pomegranatespompom · 11/02/2021 19:53

*at the moment

Pomegranatespompom · 11/02/2021 19:54

Oh my youngest had a "no screens" day yesterday. Which we translated as an ironic gesture.

alreadytaken · 11/02/2021 19:56

The number of people in mechanical ventilation beds has now dropped below the peak of the first wave. Still masses of people in hospital and I know there will still be lots getting oxygen through CPAP but still - deaths ought to keep falling now.

FourTeaFallOut · 11/02/2021 19:57

Appreciate the cover truely. We'll stage a coup. No one will see it coming from the bowels of the Pollyanna thread!

MarshaBradyo · 11/02/2021 19:58

😂 at all this. Cheering me up a bit

tootyfruitypickle · 11/02/2021 20:00

I've not looked at that thread. I ventured an idea/opinion on a schools thread earlier this week, the teachers on MN are a little aggressive, I discovered ....
Staying right here me!

tootyfruitypickle · 11/02/2021 20:02

And yes, irl, our school have been utterly amazing.

Pomegranatespompom · 11/02/2021 20:03

Very @tootyfruitypickle and travel in packs

BunsyGirl · 11/02/2021 20:24

My DS2’s teacher is fab, so positive and amazingly patient with a bunch of seven years constantly telling him that their iPad battery is running low. He keeps talking about 8th March and seems convinced (and very happy about) them all going back to school then. Wish I could record him and put him on one of those bloody school threads.

BunsyGirl · 11/02/2021 20:24
 • seven year olds
Pomegranatespompom · 11/02/2021 20:26

@BunsyGirl most of the teachers I know want to be back, have been able to wear masks etc think just a vocal minority on here

Frazzled2207 · 11/02/2021 20:31

Looking at today's stats it would appear that one THOUSAND times the number of positive cases today, are now vaccinated

or 33 times the number of positive cases today, were vaccinated today.

The number of people vaccinated in total is more than four times the number of people that have tested positive, in total.
@BunsyGirl most of the teachers I know want to be back, have been able to wear masks etc think just a vocal minority on here
How odd because most teachers I know absolutely do not want to go back until the government put in place better measures to make classrooms safer. DP teaches and their colleagues are hoping for schools to remain closed until Easter.

BunsyGirl · 11/02/2021 20:32

@Pomegranatespompom Unfortunately I have a family member who is one of the “vocal minority”. Well, maybe not on here, but definitely on other social media. My DS2’s teacher is the perfect antidote Smile I am sure DS1’s teacher is the same (as DS2’s) but I don’t get involved in those lessons!

BessMarvin · 11/02/2021 20:32

What on earth is Noblegiraffe?

FourTeaFallOut · 11/02/2021 20:35

I wonder at what point Nadhim Zahawi will break out his I-told-you-so victory dance? 14m or 15m?

Pomegranatespompom · 11/02/2021 20:35

Not odd really @Thewiseoneincognito we just know different people.
Although my nephew is enjoying his time off, as a PE teacher he’s not needed to do much at all.
