NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

Yes I did at the end of the day. Was very grateful to take it too :-)

HalfDutchGirl · 09/02/2021 22:22

@twinmum2017 I realise not all vaccine hubs are the same but the Hub where I volunteer don’t often have a queue and we have chairs available for anyone who needs to sit down. We allow people in with their carers if they need assistance. I hope you get all you need for your Mum.

Thedarksideofthemoon30 · 09/02/2021 22:36

I’m really struggling atm with all the negative news articles about new Strains 😔

TeaInTheGarden · 09/02/2021 22:39

@Thedarksideofthemoon30 they are deliberately trying to scare us and I know exactly how you feel. Please try and ignore them and remember that so far all the evidence is saying the vaccines work to prevent hospitalisations and death. That really is the main thing now.

Spiratedaway · 09/02/2021 22:52

We didn't and I ask what they did with the leftovers and was told off 😂 what one did you have
TeaInTheGarden · 09/02/2021 23:41

Loved this article, particularly it’s reference to doom mongers!

Good grief that is superGrin

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 09/02/2021 23:59

Got to copy and paste some of Teal's link article here. It talks about data to be released within days

Just one Pfizer jab gives 64-65 per cent protection. Two boosts it to about 84.The Oxford vaccine is expected to be similar and — despite self-interested smears from Brussels — across all age groups.Remember, this is against MILD illness. The jabs’ success in preventing severe cases or even death will be higher still.Indeed the PHE data already seems to show hospitalisations of OAPs plunging thanks to their jabs. That is wonderful news for them — and for Britain’s hopes of a rapid return to near-normality.These jabs are FAR more effective than a flu shot, which hits 50 per cent protection at best and is often far lower. And the results, Britain’s first since the clinical trials, utterly vindicate the Government delaying the second dose to inoculate as many people as possible.

TeaInTheGarden · 10/02/2021 00:41

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum it sure is!! Cannot wait to see this published officially?☺️

CornishYarg · 10/02/2021 00:42
**@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum* @Harumff*

My mum is going to call the GP tomorrow and see if they have some there that they could borrow. Presumably she'll be allowed in the queue with him to push.
I did my first shift as a vaccine marshall at the weekend. While people not personally being vaccinated were asked to wait outside wherever possible, if anyone needed a helper with them for any reason, such as to push their wheelchair, it wasn't an issue. For example, we had a lady with dementia come along and she had two relatives with her at all times to try to calm her.

tobee · 10/02/2021 02:46

Love that cat filter video!

So Michael Caine got the vaccine I see. Not a lot of people know that.

Also from Michael Caine and Elton John

@tobee 😂

FuzzyPuffling · 10/02/2021 07:03

I really want to know how to put a cat filter on my zoom. I think it would be perfect for church meetings!

This morning I read something in the German press that residents in a care home in Germany tested positive for the UK strain after they had been vaccinated...but they ALL got it mildly. That's good news.

Pomegranatespompom · 10/02/2021 07:05

That is good news @FuzzyPuffling o hope you feel brighter today.
I need a zoom filter- it’s an effort not to roll my eyes at times.

What a jolly article!

FuzzyPuffling · 10/02/2021 07:14

Thanks pom. Fighting the gloom one day at a time. It's all any of us can really do.

Pomegranatespompom · 10/02/2021 07:18

Love the article and hope it reaches the more negative sections ...
just read another thread and 😮 at some of the views.

Manzanilla55 · 10/02/2021 08:09

Impressive how quickly these good news threads fill up.

Flossie44 · 10/02/2021 08:35

That ‘one jab’ article is so uplifting and wonderful to wake up to 😊

Glad you're feeling a bit more chipper this morning FuzzyPuffling and I hope the Gardening Board inspired you for spring.
Enjoyed the article in The Sun, and I'm
off for a long walk to enjoy the actual sun - it's a beautiful day.

TeaInTheGarden · 10/02/2021 09:50

Nadhim Zahawi had retweeted the article from the sun. Incase any doom mongers are saying not to trust it.... ☺️☺️

twinmum2017 · 10/02/2021 10:13

@HalfDutchGirl @CornishYarg

Thanks both, mum called this morning and apparently they have a seating area for those who can't stand and she'd be able to assist him to get there and then go back to the car to wait. So that's good news. Hopefully we can get it booked for next week 🤞🏻
