This is a continuation of the previous thread, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4145954-6-3-million-people-vaccinated-already-brilliant

This thread is intended as a positive place to observe our remarkable vaccine rollout as it progresses and to celebrate the ever increasing numbers as we go.

Polite notice: conspiracy theorists, doommongers and those looking for endless debate over vaccine efficacy, leave vs remain and one-legged trousers - this is probably not the thread for you.

So, to pick up from where we left off... a truly tremendous 10,021,471 people in the UK have now received their first dose of the vaccine - that’s 18.9% (or 1 in every 5.3) of all UK adults.

There’s no doubt about it - there is an unmistakable light at the end of this long, long tunnel and every day it’s getting brighter. Come on folks - let’s do this!! Grin

Read elsewhere that NI is around 11k

buttery81 · 05/02/2021 15:21

Looking forward to today’s official figure - and to getting over the 10.6 million mark, which will mean that over 1 in 5 UK adults have received their 1st dose of vaccine! Smile

Also, I can’t believe how close we’re getting to the 13.9 million mid February target - and it’s only the 5th!

A phenomenal achievement!!

I've just thought of it that way too @buttery81 All the time I've been counting up, but we are tantalisingly close now to the promised number and we are so early in the month! Wine

Quornflakegirl · 05/02/2021 16:03

Where are these daily vaccination stats released, does anyone have a link?

CaveMum · 05/02/2021 16:04

Total 1st vaccinations 10,971,047
Total 2nd dose 505,993

ScribblingPixie · 05/02/2021 16:07

@Chickenqueen

My mum and dad have been invited to get vaccinated this weekend and they are 59 and 57! Not clinically vulnerable either so they must be steaming through in their area (North London)
OMG, this is my category. Please tell me they're in Haringey!
whenwillthemadnessend · 05/02/2021 16:14

Following. Thanks

gingeristhenewblack43 · 05/02/2021 16:19

Oooh we are so tantalisingly close the 11 million with 10 days still to go 😆

gingeristhenewblack43 · 05/02/2021 16:20

Over 4.5 million in less than 2 weeks 🎉

LH1987 · 05/02/2021 16:25

Amazing! Such an achievement!

Chickenqueen · 05/02/2021 16:45

@ScribblingPixie Enfield!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 05/02/2021 16:49

Ah, close but not quite. Good for them. I've heard anecdotally that our situation is over-65s but younger partners can often get their jab too on the same day if there's vaccine available. This is really going brilliantly.

buttery81 · 05/02/2021 17:12

Total 1st vaccinations 10,971,047

Fantastic!

So 20.7% of all UK adults have now received their 1st dose - incredible!!! Grin

In other exciting numbers:-

Average cases have now fallen lower than 20k per day over the last week
Total hospital admissions in the last week have now fallen below 20k
Average deaths per day have now fallen below 1000 per day.

On the 14th Jan we all got really excited as vaccinations had gone over 300k for the first time with 316k. This week the lowest the numbers have been is 319k.

I reckon over 12 million will be announced at 4pm on Sunday.

EmmanuelleMakro · 05/02/2021 18:31

Fab - thanks so much for this thread!
Just what we need for a Friday!

Absolutely brilliant! My two pil are getting their first dose tomorrow Grin and on a Saturday too Shock! Who would have thought it. Feel such a warm feeling about the whole vaccine programme. Well done to every single person involved ❤️.

The i newspaper says the UK is on track for every adult to get a coronavirus jab by the end of June. Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has told ministers it can deliver 100 million doses on schedule, with enough to give a first dose to all adults and a second jab to 15 million people in vulnerable groups, the paper reports, although it says supply disruption is still possible.

Frazzled2207 · 06/02/2021 10:20

Great about Az. What we don’t seem to know though is will all Az supplies come from the UK factories? And will the Uk factories be sending some of what they make abroad? We’re led to believe not but don’t really know this.

Also imm sure all 40 million Pfizer doses were originally due by April. I’d really like to know how many of each have been administered.

Moderna and hopefully novavax will be on the scene in q2. All fab news.

Blessex · 06/02/2021 10:22

@Frazzled2207 the government isn’t publishing the numbers. Many countries in the EU have said they won’t be giving the AZ vaccine to over 65 year olds.

Frazzled2207 · 06/02/2021 10:42

What the bbc says about supply this morning. Looks promising
