This is a continuation of the previous thread, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4145954-6-3-million-people-vaccinated-already-brilliant

This thread is intended as a positive place to observe our remarkable vaccine rollout as it progresses and to celebrate the ever increasing numbers as we go.

Polite notice: conspiracy theorists, doommongers and those looking for endless debate over vaccine efficacy, leave vs remain and one-legged trousers - this is probably not the thread for you.

So, to pick up from where we left off... a truly tremendous 10,021,471 people in the UK have now received their first dose of the vaccine - that’s 18.9% (or 1 in every 5.3) of all UK adults.

There’s no doubt about it - there is an unmistakable light at the end of this long, long tunnel and every day it’s getting brighter. Come on folks - let’s do this!! Grin

15 million! Outstanding!

Frazzled2207 · 14/02/2021 15:12

@Frazzled6

No, I doubt it, but the council do though (he is one of the leadership team). I may be wrong but I believe the council have a large input to which workers are being vaccinated (care workers etc).
yes that would make sense. But similarly employers would not know Gp details(perhaps they have not been called up via GPs). I wonder who marries this all up.
Blessex · 14/02/2021 15:18

Wowowowow 15m!!!!!! Star what an amazing effort. Cannot wait to get my jab. I am under 50 and not CV so may be May? Happy to wait :-). Cannot wait to see my parents again!

🥳15 million 🥳

Well done to all those people that have helped this happen Wine

Frazzled6 · 14/02/2021 16:02

I wonder who marries this all up.

I'm sure my DB probably knows will enquire but I'm guessing it's probably a special link for local councils etc.

15m is great. Im hoping I get to see my family in the Spring, my DSis has been vaccinated, my brothers this Tues and hopefully I will be vaccinated in the next few weeks. We have postponed, 18th,21st and 60th birthday celebrations and a new arrival due in April.. Haven't seen each other since Xmas 2019!

buttery81 · 14/02/2021 16:14

Official figure now in...

15,062,189 people have now had their 1st dose up to and including 13th Feb

Fantastic!!!!! Grin

Fabulous numbers today!

15 million people vaccinated! That is just wonderful!

Boris - I take back exactly one thing I ever said about you!

Also great cases numbers - lowest numbers since 2nd October.

And hospital admissions and deaths are the lowest of 2021.

MaddieElla · 14/02/2021 16:19

WE DID IT 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Thank you to every single jabber out there and to those that produced the vaccine and enabled it to be rolled out in such magnificent form. 💗

gingeristhenewblack43 · 14/02/2021 16:34

Well done to all the staff and volunteers who have made this happen 🥳

@buttery81 can you post the link to the data page on gov.uk please. I've lost it and can't find it 🙄

yellowspanner · 14/02/2021 16:34

Yes, big thank you to every single jabber and all the workers and volunteers that have made this possible. And the government for having the foresight to buy up all these doses.

Londt · 14/02/2021 16:51

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Jabtastic!!

So we’re 2 days early? Wow, it’s absolutely incredible.

Thank you to all involved in jabbing and thank you to all on here for keeping me positive and for sharing the happy facts and figures.

buttery81 · 14/02/2021 17:29

So much respect for the jabbers and volunteer marshals. So uplifting that despite the moaning doomsters we keep hearing from on here in real life people are fixing it. Just heroic!

Nutrigrainygoodness · 14/02/2021 19:56

This is amazing. 🤯🥳🥳

pinkhappy · 14/02/2021 20:02

Let's make a new thread every 5 million :-D

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/02/2021 20:28

It is utterly amazing and I was very doubtful that it could be done.

I still cannot forgive Boris though for us being in such a mess in the first place.

gingeristhenewblack43 · 14/02/2021 20:36

@buttery81 thank you, that is exactly what I was after 👍🏻 Much appreciated!

CaveMum · 15/02/2021 06:26

More good news out of Israel

10 million people vaccinated already - brilliant!
whenwillthemadnessend · 15/02/2021 08:51

Thanks caveman. That's awesome

psychomath · 15/02/2021 11:12

My mum is in the 65-70 group and I think is getting fed up of my impatient phone calls demanding to know whether she's been invited yet Grin Who would have thought even two months ago that we'd be in this position by now??

PuzzledObserver · 15/02/2021 11:18

@psychomath she doesn’t need to wait to be invited - the national booking site is open to over 65’s now.

If she prefers to wait because she wants to attend somewhere more local, that’s fine - but if she can drive, she could probably get an appointment within the next couple of days.

psychomath · 15/02/2021 11:23

PuzzledObserver I didn't realise it was open to over 65s now, that's great - I'll let her know Smile She doesn't have a car but I think lives quite close to her nearest hub.

Paddy1234 · 15/02/2021 12:07

Did I read correctly that there are only 1.2m in the 65-70 age group. That means they would storm through it

WetJan · 15/02/2021 12:36

My mum's 67 and has here's booked for Wednesday, but granted our GP practice has been superb in their vaccine rollout. I think she had a letter too but the GP got there first.
