This is a continuation of the previous thread, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4145954-6-3-million-people-vaccinated-already-brilliant

This thread is intended as a positive place to observe our remarkable vaccine rollout as it progresses and to celebrate the ever increasing numbers as we go.

Polite notice: conspiracy theorists, doommongers and those looking for endless debate over vaccine efficacy, leave vs remain and one-legged trousers - this is probably not the thread for you.

So, to pick up from where we left off... a truly tremendous 10,021,471 people in the UK have now received their first dose of the vaccine - that’s 18.9% (or 1 in every 5.3) of all UK adults.

There’s no doubt about it - there is an unmistakable light at the end of this long, long tunnel and every day it’s getting brighter. Come on folks - let’s do this!! Grin

That is such a brilliant number. It helps knowing that many have been done.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 11/02/2021 16:21

Star 13.5

mateysmum · 11/02/2021 16:22

The .gov site has not been updated yet at 16.22pm. Anybody know why the delay?

buttery81 · 11/02/2021 16:23

There’s still no official update on the gov.uk website is there? Drums fingers impatiently! Grin

buttery81 · 11/02/2021 16:23

@mateysmum occasionally it is delayed. I think we had an update at 4.40 once!

Do these people not understand that the Mumsnet jury is waiting!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 11/02/2021 16:30

That is it they need to start reporting numbers on mumsnet first AngryGrin

Parkandride · 11/02/2021 16:33

Bored and keep refreshing the page Grin hoping for 13.5million!

Thisyearisshit · 11/02/2021 16:38

Refreshing here too!! Impatiently waiting, I’m not ashamed to admit it’s becoming the highlight of my day!!

gingeristhenewblack43 · 11/02/2021 16:40

Even my 9yo DD reminds me it's 4pm and to check the data 😀

Dogsarehairy · 11/02/2021 16:41

Does it say how many CEV people who received letters in April are still not vaccinated? Is it hundreds of thousands or less?

BigWoollyJumpers · 11/02/2021 16:47

Apparently delayed until 5pm

Mumoftwoinprimary · 11/02/2021 17:08

I want numbers!

buttery81 · 11/02/2021 17:10

I want numbers!

Me too! Why are we waiting, it is so frustrating...

Still nothing at 5.20.

Mind you, I've been irritably impatient ever since Our World in Data started updating the next morning rather than that evening.

I saw a headline that there were queues outside Cardiff & the Vale vaccination centres due to an IT issue. Could this be related?

PilatesPeach · 11/02/2021 17:30

South East - my group 5, 67 year old friend got invite today and is going for 1st jab tomorrow morning and to their local one too.

We're a logistically annoying bunch. There's 2.5m cev but around 1.5m ish fall in the older age group categories. Beyond that some won't be able to get immunised because of issues around immunity and some are too young to be eligible yet. How you put all that together to work out who has been offered within that group, inside/ outside of the age groups, who had to decline and who chose to decline and who has yet to be offered must be a nightmare to present to the public.
Motorina · 11/02/2021 17:55

Interesting post here, showing breakdown by age and area:

I'm surprised how many 70-74s remain to be done, given how the numbers are climbing.

whenwillthemadnessend · 11/02/2021 18:01

They announced deaths on bcc news earlier but no other numbers yet.

buttery81 · 11/02/2021 18:21

The numbers are finally in folks...

13,509,108 people have now received their 1st dose of vaccine up to and including 10th Feb!

Over 13.5 million - well that was worth waiting for! Grin

It also means that an incredible 25.5% (or 1 in every 3.9) of UK adults have now had their 1st dose - fantastic!!!

OP posts:
buttery81 · 11/02/2021 18:25

Also, deaths were at 678 (a big drop since yesterday?) and new cases 13,494.

Well they took their time but it was worth the wait 🎉 fantastic data today!

Mumoftwoinprimary · 11/02/2021 18:35

There is always a fall in the numbers announced on a Thursday. I think because the numbers announced on a Tuesday and Wednesday are always high as they have pick up from the weekend.

What is interesting though is to compare the numbers to that of last week:-

Thursday - 678 vs 915
Wednesday - 1001 vs 1322
Tuesday - 1052 vs 1449
Monday - 333 vs 406
Sunday - 373 vs 587
Saturday - 828 vs 1200
Friday - 1014 vs 1245

We are seeing consistent big falls every single day.

Mumoftwoinprimary · 11/02/2021 18:36

I’m predicting a cool 14 million for tomorrow.
