@alreadytaken

London has more young people and less old people than most of the country so it can reach a lot of the vulnerable while still vaccinating less than the rest of the country.

Once the vaccine refusers see the vaccinated have not grown a tail/starting buying Microsoft products/whatever else their tiny brains imagine take up of vaccines may increase even further. Plus some studies count as vaccine refusers people who are not able to have the vaccine currently or are pregnant and may prefer it later.

More of my older relatives have slots booked for vaccination, including the biggest doom merchant who kept insisting it would be March at the earliest and is booked in next week.

We need a like button ❤
@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum where did you get that image please? I'd love to share.
Now I have to admit it was a tweet from Boris I cropped

Not that I follow him. It was on one of the newspaper websites. Sorry I can't remember which.

Frequentflier · 05/02/2021 11:23

Am sorry, I haven't been able to catch up with all the news, but is there any good news about the variants?

Pomegranatespompom · 05/02/2021 11:34

I’ll have a look for the tweet - thank you.

Smile

If you are on a phone. You can click on the photo. Then push down on the enlarged image until it gives you the option to download image.

Else you could always follow Boris on Twitter 😂

Level75 · 05/02/2021 11:49

Love that drawing @Pomegranatespompom.

I second that we need to see a happy George the cat!

TheChineseChicken · 05/02/2021 11:53

louisejxxx · 05/02/2021 11:59

@tobee

I swear I don't work for The Times but here's another Times screenshot:-
@tobee do you have access to the full article at all? I think I must’ve used up all my free times viewings without subscribing so can’t read it all Blush
Pomegranatespompom · 05/02/2021 12:09

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum I’ll ask a friend - I’m not on Twitter. I think I’d get too enraged 😂
Saw your balanced posts on the teacher/vaccine thread, wanted to write about the efficacy after 1 dose, but didn’t want the negative accusations that would follow !

InsanityRocks · 05/02/2021 12:14

@Lipsalot

I'm taking my dad to have his vaccine this weekend at a hub. What do you think my chances are of them saying they have enough spares/unfilled slots that I can nab one too? I'm definitely not expecting it to happen but would be thrilled if it was possible.
I went with my cousin last night to show her where the centre is, and I loitered outside waiting for her. This was about 6.30pm, and I was called in and asked if I wanted vaccine as they had spares because some hadn't turned up, so it is definitely possible.
FuzzyPuffling · 05/02/2021 12:19

Pomegranate* Professor Selina W?

FuzzyPuffling · 05/02/2021 12:26

George is currently residing at the vets until he has a wee. ( George, not the vet)

Here he is enjoying the Christmas tree last year.

Pomegranatespompom · 05/02/2021 12:29

She’s adults I think? I’m in paeds (and not neuro - we were randomly placed and the neuro guys think we’re quite “special” I think. Although they share the food the parents gift us 😊

Pomegranatespompom · 05/02/2021 12:30

George is looking very aloof - I do like an aloof cat.

thatgingergirl · 05/02/2021 12:31

George is "georgeous"! So glad he's perked up!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 05/02/2021 12:33

Oh, George is very handsome. Has he got a blockage Fuzzy? My old cat used to have crystals that blocked him up. Very distressing for everyone.

FuzzyPuffling · 05/02/2021 12:37

Possible George blockage or ( in the words of the vet) "just being a naughty boy!) Anyway he was so much happier this morning that's a good sign. Hoping to get a call....

TJ17 · 05/02/2021 12:38

@Pomegranatespompom

I’ll have a look for the tweet - thank you.
Hahaha I love this 😂 I feel like just placing this picture in every single negative thread and leaving again 😂
Pomegranatespompom · 05/02/2021 12:41

@TJ17 I was so tempted to pop on the teacher thread - especially for the poster who ‘feels’ the ONS data is wrong....

TJ17 · 05/02/2021 12:42

@Pomegranatespompom
I wouldn't dare but I'd love to send it to DM who reckons the 12 week gap isn't going to work because it didn't work for her dog and he had to start all over again when he had his boosters 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Pomegranatespompom · 05/02/2021 12:46

@TJ17 🤣🤣

Have you seen the ‘Tracey on Facebook’ one? That’s very funny.
Sorry I’m multiply derailing - I think it’s the excitement of the 20% of adults vaccinated post.

TJ17 · 05/02/2021 12:49

Haha no I haven't!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 05/02/2021 12:53

TJ17 Do it 😂

George is lovely and so was you tree by the looks of it ❤

Not about covid but everyone hear is very helpful. So thought I would ask whilst waiting for doctor to get back to me.

Yesterday my GP prescribed me Prednisone tablets. I have a long term health conditions and since flu at Christmas some side effects have started. Anyway today I have weird tingling in my hands and feet. Slight tightening of the chest, nothing painful. Does anyone have experience of prednisone? Is this normal side effects? The leaflet with them doesn't say these symptoms and nothing online.

Pomegranatespompom · 05/02/2021 12:56

I would call the GP @Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum I often prescribe Pred and can’t recall anyone reporting those symptoms (paediatrics though).

Jenasaurus · 05/02/2021 13:04

Thought this may cheer people up an get them in the weekend mood. Its a genuine council meeting on Zoom, why does it make me think of Vicar or Dibley
