NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

I know I can get both of them online but I don't see the point of new clothes when I'm not going anywhere and spend most of my day laying on the floor playing Duplo

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 04/02/2021 12:02

Haha maybe @Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum

Anything positive I post to stem the tide of negativity is just met with crickets. So I'm not doing it any more. It's too cliquey. A shame, because it was the only place to discuss Scotland-only Coronavirus stuff. But some of us are not really all that welcome.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 04/02/2021 12:04

Oh reading further it doesn't seem like it's the same one. Ah well, I've outed myself now as one of the Scotsnet outsiders 🤷🏻‍♀️

LetItGoGo · 04/02/2021 12:06

Just start a positive news only thread in Scotsnet?

LetItGoGo · 04/02/2021 12:06

I'll say hello.

Frazzled2207 · 04/02/2021 12:13

@PuffinShop
I meant to clarify that in iceland it effectively means you can leave and come back in if you are Icelandic not that we can go there if vaccinated. I do think individual countries will end up with a similar rule. But in some cases go further and say you can’t go to certain other countries unless you have it.

I don't have the brain space to start and police a thread. I'm half-mad with work and homeschool as it is Grin
LetItGoGo · 04/02/2021 12:28

I know I never start threads!

FourTeaFallOut · 04/02/2021 12:28

Only half mad, it's only full mad when you get your second dose.

My parents are getting their first doses on Monday - they're in their 60s so a pleasant surprise. Now if I can just get them to stay in for three weeks...

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 04/02/2021 12:46

The moment the non essential shops open, then the cafes, restaurants and pubs. There will be a stampede to spend money. Plus most people will be over spending on holidays in the UK this summer

Over 65 or under 65?
IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 04/02/2021 12:50

Over. Although my ILs are in their 70s and haven't heard anything at all. It must be a bit of a lottery in terms of GPs maybe.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 04/02/2021 13:08

It does look like a lot of places will be well through group 5 by 15th February. Which is awesome!

Always will be a slight postcode lottery about it. Not sure the government can help that. Sending soldiers or more vaccine to certain places obviously helps. However age and size of population or geography can slow things greatly.

I actually think the higher uptake than expected has slowed the vaccination program a bit. So if they don't quite finish all 4 groups in a few areas this is probably the reason.

FuzzyPuffling · 04/02/2021 13:10

Whilst I understand other people's point of view, I don't want schools to return any time soon. There's been absolutely no changes to safety procedures.

My DD is a secondary school teacher and I fear for her.

FuzzyPuffling · 04/02/2021 13:12

Our PCN hopes to have finished Group 4 by 14th Feb. So just in time.
But they have have no indication of what their vaccine supply will be the weekend after this one, so it's all a bit of guesswork.

I have no idea how they can plan anything with such late notification of supply and I don't envy them.

FourTeaFallOut · 04/02/2021 13:27

Zahawi tells MPs:

  • We have now vaccinated almost 9 in 10 over 80s
  • Almost 9 in 10 over 75s
  • Over half of people in their 70s
