NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

Yey to getting vaccinated and losing weight. I'm just aiming not to put too much on until spring when I try to lose it again. I always find it easier in Summer so try not to stress too much in winter

FuzzyPuffling · 01/02/2021 19:56

Me too orange but DH was diagnosed with diabetes ( as a result of his cancer treatment) so we decided to go at it together. He's crept into pre diabetes range already...more bloods this week. He's lost 1.5 stone. That's great news, isn't it?

carolinesbaby · 01/02/2021 20:02

Fab news from Israel. Really hope the EU get their act together soon. My British parents are mid-60's living in France.

FuzzyPuffling · 01/02/2021 20:03

Good luck to your parents reachers. I hope they can get sorted soon.

ArianaVenti · 01/02/2021 20:38

@tobee i guess it's partly because teachers can't wear ppe (well they could but have been told not to) & work with people who have been told not to wear ppe. Which is different in all the other jobs.
(Not necessarily saying they should be moved up, just thinking it is different for them)

tobee · 01/02/2021 21:00

True @ArianaVenti !

I don't know if meat packers etc are wearing extra ppe. Presumably they where hygiene stuff in normal times. I just worry about workers on low wages and without union protection. Workers maybe more likely living together in cramped conditions?

Furries · 01/02/2021 21:07

@littleowl1 - no worries at all, you’ve done such an amazing job that I feel rotten for even asking!

For me, the green was such a vibrant “go, go, go” colour, that I think my brain had equated it with good news 😃

Get where you’re coming from though. When I was able to work, my closest colleague was our amazing corporate designer. She was passionate and switched on. She used to look in horror at some of the colour codings I had for my own spreadsheets - the colours MEANT something to me, but they gave her a headache if she glanced at my monitors!

ArianaVenti · 01/02/2021 21:07

Yes totally agree about low wage workers tobee.

Furries · 01/02/2021 21:11

@TJ17

Ok so not good news but it put a smile on my face on an otherwise very gloomy Monday 😂
That is brilliant - and has reminded me of one of my favourite tunes from my younger years!
FuzzyPuffling · 01/02/2021 21:16

Furries, at work I invented a spreadsheet that was known as "my little pony" it had so many different pastelly colours in it. Funnily, it went a bit viral through our industry and was used in a lot of workplaces!

GraciousPiglet · 01/02/2021 23:21

@louisejxxx

I think it will start to level off now too, but I think it’s important to remember alongside this that we’ve only been in lockdown for just under 4 weeks...with 5 weeks (atleast) still to go. Whilst that sounds like an awfully long time written down, that means even if the drop of cases is slower...it could still be really really low in 5 weeks time.
This really made me feel happy. You are absolutely right. We can sit tight for another 5 weeks and it'll just get better and better whilst we do!

Aw, I wish mine had been called that (and that it ended up being used by others). Sadly, mine was referred to as “that traffic light monstrosity, it hurts my eyes” 😂😂
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 02/02/2021 00:03

Agree

I am focusing on the 8th March for the figures of cases hospital admissions and deaths to be very much lower. And to be the day things start to open up. Be that schools, shops or whatever. At the moment don't care what but something.

Looking forwards nervously to hear the plan set out on the 22nd February

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 02/02/2021 00:04

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

We still laugh about it even now! And she fully admits if I’m able to be back and working again, she’d fully embrace said monstrosity 🤣
tobee · 02/02/2021 02:32

Ooh ooh March 8th near my birthday! It was so strange and downbeat last year. I was supposed to be going out for dinner with my dsis. We thought we were putting it off for a few weeks! Be fab to finally go with her finally!

tobee · 02/02/2021 02:33

Too many finallys

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 02/02/2021 02:46

Not sure the restaurants will open quite that quickly😁 You may have to settle for a walk around a non essential shop to celebrate 😂 but it would at least be a change of scenery and a start of normal 🥳

louisejxxx · 02/02/2021 06:46

I am keeping everything crossed for gyms and leisure centres first 🤞

louisejxxx · 02/02/2021 06:47

Oh and outdoor sports...not asking much, I know Grin

OrangeBananaFish · 02/02/2021 07:46

I miss parkrun. I'd be happy with that ATM

FuzzyPuffling · 02/02/2021 07:58

I just want my vaccine before I go anywhere. My lupus, dodgy kidneys and age all work against me! But I would like to be able to go for a walk with a pub lunch ( outside is fine) and choose my own broccoli from a supermarket.🥦🥦. Not that Tesco aren't doing us proud.

Oldtimer2020 · 02/02/2021 08:33

Ok ladies I’m having a bit of a wobble this morning and need to be bombarded with positive news please. We live adjacent to one of the SA virus red zones and it’s frightened me. I keep repeating to myself that two steps forward, one step back still means we are going forward. But needing some positive vibes please!

FuzzyPuffling · 02/02/2021 08:37

old-timer...the vaccines still work, better than the flu vaccine we all accept. The SA variant appears to be no "worse" than any of the others, just a bit mutated. This is what all viruses do. Normal.
I think a bit of a wobble is normal too...but carry on hand washing and avoiding people as much as possible and all will be well.

I’m feeling the same today but reassuring myself that, even if there are blips and setbacks, this isn’t the rest of our lives Flowers
