Wow tobee your lucky friend! Still on the over 75s here. I guess that's the difference with every day vaccinations rather than just weekend ones. I reckon I'll get mine at the end of March!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 01/02/2021 17:11

Only for councils left to fall🤞

How are my fellow Suffolk watchers getting on? Nothing yet for my Mum (over 75) and the only link says not yet eligible.

Not complaining just not a very patient person...

Fab to see the news on stats today.

BBCONEANDTWO · 01/02/2021 17:17

Wow @littleowl1 thank you - fantastic figures

Furries · 01/02/2021 17:29

@littleowl1 - minuscule query really. Just wondered why the bar for falling cases is blue now instead of green?

Fantastic to see it down to four councils with rising cases.

littleowl1 · 01/02/2021 17:39

@Furries

I was probably being completely daft, but I felt the green was really clashing with all the blue on the site and I thought perhaps it looked unprofessional.

I'm going to fiddle around - I am sure there is a green that will look better. I just hadn't the time to fiddle with it today and it's much easier to get a blue to blend with the look-and-feel of the site!

FuzzyPuffling · 01/02/2021 17:57

I hear you Blerg and really hope your mum gets the call soon. It's anxiety-inducing to hear about other people in lower cohorts getting the jab when you're waiting.

My current gripe is MPs banging on about vaccinating teachers...and therefore dropping vulnerable people down the list. I wish they'd get their information right - it's the top NINE groups that are vulnerable (including people with life threatening medical conditions) not just the top four.

(My DD who is a secondary school teacher thinks this sharp-elbowed nonsense is dreadful and wants nothing to do with it)

Gripes over!

On the good side I have lost 16lbs since December and am reducing my personal risk of covid complications pound by pound.

FuzzyPuffling · 01/02/2021 17:58

Oh, and the ONS Swab-Men are coming tomorrow. Very efficient.

ILookAtTheFloor · 01/02/2021 18:02

@Blerg my Suffolk-dwelling in laws had theirs today! They had Ipswich booked for tomorrow (45 mins away from them!) but their doctor called and changed it to today, much more local 🤞🏻 they're mid 70s.

Hope you hear soon!

FourTeaFallOut · 01/02/2021 18:11

I'm done Grin AstraZeneca, barely felt it.

tobee · 01/02/2021 18:15

🥳🥳🥳 @FourTeaFallOut

FourTeaFallOut · 01/02/2021 18:17

Thank you. It was a like a vaccine assembly line. It was impressive in a very geeky way.

tobee · 01/02/2021 18:22

I agree @FuzzyPuffling

What I don't understand is why everyone leaves out the other people who have to work in the pandemic like people in supermarkets, front and behind the scenes, meat packers and all food processing people and distribution etc. I'm happy that teachers get the vaccine but that's a lot of other groups that barely get a mention. Sure meat packers don't have to deal with the general public (I think) but it's been a well known source of infection worldwide since the pandemic began. I suppose people are much more involved with schools on here with teachers and parents but what about the groups that nobody mentions? I hesitate to say this because I don't want to be jumped on as a teacher basher.

Yes dh said it was a very British kind of set up! Grin

Some more good news from Israel:

twitter.com/segal_eran/status/1356313705684869121

srael: We say with caution, the magic has started

Note blue lines, of 60+ years old (first to vaccinate), in the past 2 weeks:

~35% drop in cases
~30% drop in hospitalizations
~20% drop in critically ill

Stronger than in younger people & not seen in previous lockdown

Ok so not good news but it put a smile on my face on an otherwise very gloomy Monday 😂

BertieBassettsBabe · 01/02/2021 19:26

Yay I found you again.

Lots of positivity at the moment.

CEV husband had his jab (AZ) on Saturday. Sunday he could barely get out of bed as exhausted, but back to his normal self today (apart from a sore arm).

FuzzyPuffling · 01/02/2021 19:47

risk

FuzzyPuffling · 01/02/2021 19:47

Sorry...no risk here. Weird pasting error! Ignore ignore...

FuzzyPuffling · 01/02/2021 19:49

Hurrah Fourtea that's great news. It'll be fun when we're all saying "my turn".
And thank you for the fab weight loss vibes. Doing my best to lose 2 stone.

FuzzyPuffling · 01/02/2021 19:50

And hurrah for Bertie asset's DH too.

FuzzyPuffling · 01/02/2021 19:51
