U.K. is reaping the benefits of that despite the doses last year still coming from EU. Let's hope U.K. production doesn't suffer any failures, as we are talking about fecking human beings being vaccinated here in a hope we can get back to normal. It's not a football match.

And Britain put in their order 3 months earlier. The EU still haven't got around to approving it yet.

Incidentally the new "British" variant probably didnt originate here, it was just identified here first. Largely due to the fact that the UK do more genome sequencing than the rest or Europe. France (IIRC) do none so that variant could easily have been in France first but not identified. I don't think it's a coincidence that the "Kent" variant appeared in the county adjacent to a huge port.

As for Novavax, the entire UK supply will be made here, yes, but it's an American company. EU order is 200 million doses, but I don't know where that will be manufactured.

It was totally right of course that there world got angry.. But it's going to erupt in the eu if they don't pull their fingers out.

The EU want AZ to honour their contract as they paid! It's nowt to do with Brexit and all that shit.
