This is a continuation of the previous thread, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4129412-1-5-million-people-vaccinated-already-brilliant

6,353,321 people in the UK have now received their first dose of the vaccine - that’s 1 in every 8.3 adults. It’s a truly remarkable achievement to have reached so many people in such a short space of time.

Welcome to the new thread and let’s keep the positive vibes going! Grin

The official figure is now on the government website...

8,977,329 people have received their first dose up to and including 30th Jan.

That’s an increase of 598,389 on yesterday.

Flippin heck!!

@MiraWard1
local stats are hard to find but I did post regional stats for england earlier this afternoon

buttery81 · 31/01/2021 16:12

1 in every 5.9 UK adults has now received their 1st dose of vaccine

@MiraWard1 they release weekly, the most recent is here www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/01/COVID-19-weekly-announced-vaccinations-28-January-2021.xlsx
They show % for 80+ population only, but the numbers are there to work out under 80 too (I know I saw tables somewhere in the news but can’t remember where!)

Frazzled2207 · 31/01/2021 16:13

we can safely say 9 million people will be vaccinated as of some point today and 10 million is likely tomorrow - or possibly today if there are some reporting delays

TheCuriousMonkey · 31/01/2021 16:14

2.7 million vaccinations in a single week since this thread was started. This makes me so happy.

This is just brilliant news. I will be buzzing when we hit the 10 million mark!

Phew, what a fantastic couple of days!

Thanks @Frazzled2207 and @Eccle80
Sadly there's not enough resolution there to see the warring local NHS services!

598,389? Even better! 🍾🍾🍾💉

Just 23k shy of 9 million

9 MILLION

Incredible effort for all those involved - talk about unsung heroes. We are fortunate to have them in abundance.

FourTeaFallOut · 31/01/2021 16:20

Ooh, what's that as the new percentage of the adult population? That's my favourite stat.

buttery81 · 31/01/2021 16:22

To hit the mid February target we need to vaccinate 401,000 people per day from now, if we’re counting the target as 15 million (not 13.9 million as initially stated).

MiraWard1 · 31/01/2021 16:24

17% of the adult population! That's incredible!

TryingNotToPanicOverCovid · 31/01/2021 16:29

17% wow!

Notgoingonholiday · 31/01/2021 16:30

My BIL is in the car queuing to get his right this minute. I am hugely emotional about it. My DSis, BiL and DNs have hardly anywhere for nearly a year now. I am so amazingly grateful and proud of this country for getting this right.

TheCuriousMonkey · 31/01/2021 16:36

buttery I thought 13.9 was the correct figure because of overlap between different groups?

Wherediditgo · 31/01/2021 16:36

17%!!
My mom had hers today - I took her to get it. She was in and out in absolutely no time.
This vaccine roll out is absolutely incredible.

Frazzled2207 · 31/01/2021 16:56

The target 4 groups should be easily met at this rate when you think a few tens of thousands will
Probably refuse. By the 15th I hope many/most areas will be onto the 65-69s if allowed- I know some are already

SomethingOnce · 31/01/2021 16:58

17%! Get in!!!

buttery81 · 31/01/2021 17:04

buttery I thought 13.9 was the correct figure because of overlap between different groups?

@TheCuriousMonkey could be, I’m not sure. I was initially going off this BBC chart, but then other media starting citing the figure as 15 million.

If the target is 13.9 million, then we “only” need to vaccinate 328,178 a day to reach that figure by mid Feb!

6.3 million people vaccinated already - brilliant!
