This is a continuation of the previous thread, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/4129412-1-5-million-people-vaccinated-already-brilliant

6,353,321 people in the UK have now received their first dose of the vaccine - that’s 1 in every 8.3 adults. It’s a truly remarkable achievement to have reached so many people in such a short space of time.

Welcome to the new thread and let’s keep the positive vibes going! Grin

Thanks@buttery81, my parents were scammed by a fake site a few days before they got their appointments through. There were a lot in our area, and luckily they were aware and didn't fall for it. So it's such a relief to know they've had the first one.

buttery81 · 27/01/2021 15:37

@SophieB100 thank goodness for that.

7 million. I'll hold onto that thought.

Mumoftwoinprimary · 27/01/2021 18:17

Cases and deaths are down compared to this time last week which is great.

Out of interest how old are the people getting phone calls now?

psychomath · 27/01/2021 22:22

In other good news, the 7 day average of people in hospital peaked on January 19th and has been slowly falling since then - in a few days' time it should be 1000 fewer than on the worst day. Will still be mostly due to the lockdown at this stage, but hopefully means the numbers will fall even quicker once the effects of the vaccine do start to kick in properly Smile

Crumpetycrump · 27/01/2021 22:54

Sorry if this is the wrong place to say this, but today 6 of my 70-75 aged relatives were suddenly able to book a test! How amazing is that Grin

LetItGoGo · 27/01/2021 23:00

It bodes well for the future!

lurker101 · 27/01/2021 23:47

NI online booking went live tonight for those aged 65-69 to book their vaccines at one of seven regional centres - I got my parents booked. Lots of availability, and a lot of people attempting to book judging by the speed of the website - not that I’m complaining - Fantastic effort by all involved

Gracesquirrel · 28/01/2021 00:03

I had my first dose Pfizer last night Smile 30 hours since having it and absolutely no side effects, hugely relieved to have been able to get it.

QueenPawPaws · 28/01/2021 01:42

My dad got a message today to book - he's 70
