Cases in my area are still going up, but at least the rate of increase seems to be finally slowing. Its frustrating, we'd been low since the start of November and suddenly started climbing about 2 weeks ago - presumably the new variant reached us?

Rest assured most of the general population don't think like that.

It is very good news that the daily cases have gone down.

@level75 I'm in Erewash, Derbyshire

@flev I'm just across the border (broxtowe) waves and ours rates have gone up this week too-made me feel a bit panicked at first but they've only gone up 2 cases from last week. I think you're right that we're seeing the effects of the new variant. Hopefully with lockdown in place it won't be able to get far and we'll see no more significant increases.
