@TheCountessofFitzdotterel

Has anyone yet mentioned how low today’s cases are? 33355 compared with 45533 a week ago.
Down 26% which is a good drop.

@tobee

"I came on to this thread to see good news. And you're all doing it wrong"
Sad Sad

Was it me?

Inastatus · 19/01/2021 17:05

@MadisonAvenue - he’s gorgeous!

FourTeaFallOut · 19/01/2021 17:07

The cases are lower, is it about a 10% drop? Good, we'll take all the drops.

Vaccinations were a little lower than I expected but a bit of digging suggests we are probably looking at a longer data lag. I'm going to see why the government dragged it's heels on publishing daily figures.

FourTeaFallOut · 19/01/2021 17:09

Beginning to see and its not its. Your cute animals were too distracting.

MarshaBradyo · 19/01/2021 17:10

I just copied this from another thread, not my working out (too lazy)

Last Tuesday was 45,553 cases so a drop of 26%.

FourTeaFallOut · 19/01/2021 17:12

Sorry, I meant 10% on yesterday, when it was 36k Ish, which it isn't - it's less than that, but ish.

BrownBearLi · 19/01/2021 17:13

Fluffy animals always help. Here is a picture of a good boy for you all.

That’s a good drop for a day

So pleased to see this

thatgingergirl · 19/01/2021 17:13

Madison - his lovely ears!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 19/01/2021 17:15

Why do you think it’s a data lag, Fourtea? The other suggestion I have heard is that it’s because having done the general population of over 80scthey are focusing on care homes and housebound in many places which is obviously going to be a slower process. (I imagine also rural areas like Fuzzy’s which are less heavily populated.) I am not concerned either way, I think once these difficult to reach groups are done the numbers will really shoot up - all those over 70s who are getting letters this week!

Love the kitten pic though

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 19/01/2021 17:23

Thanks Fourtea, seems reasonable! Interesting Twitter thread.

FourTeaFallOut · 19/01/2021 17:24

Hugo Gye, author at inews says:

NHS spox told me today: "There is a reporting lag with some vaccination reporting. Daily publications use provisional data on vaccinations reported by midnight on the date prior to publication."

louisejxxx · 19/01/2021 17:25

Where might I be able to get my hands on my own beer pump? Grin

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 19/01/2021 17:27

I don't have a pic of my beer machine but here's one I took when out for a walk the other day Smile

Appropriate for this thread maybe.

Thats what I was wondering- they can only do those that a) have appointments and b) turn up. There will be a tapering off as more and more people get done until they move on to the next groups.

Not sure exactly whats happened in Tendring but our numbers have dropped massively over the last few days. From well.over 1000 a week ago to under 500.

While that's obviously good news, I'm not sure how believable it is.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 19/01/2021 17:28

@louisejxxx beerwulf.com

It's so good Grin

Interestingly, the Scottish government has come under fire for its slow start because it started in care homes. It's ramping up now that almost 90% of care home residents have been vaccinated.
