It is my birthday! I can sort my own Flowers and Cake later. And I move up a group on the vaccination list! Ha!Wink
I am looking forward to watching an on line tour of an exhibition at the National Gallery. I had so wanted to go in person, but never mind - this will do fine.

ChristmasinJune · 19/01/2021 07:35

@tobee

Is it me or is the rest of mn looking slightly more sane again now?

Don't look if you haven't already. I could be mistaken.

I know what you mean, there are still people trying their best to spread doom and gloom but where, once, they would have post after post agreeing with them. Now, they make their "I'm afraid" assertions and a whole load of people turn up telling them not to be daft.

I wonder when we'll get to a point where there's not a single post all day in active threads about Covid?

Brunt0n · 19/01/2021 07:49

Parking myself here, daily dose of positivity :)

FuzzyPuffling · 19/01/2021 07:59

Hello cheermongers.
I've been having a difficult time lately, but on the good news side, I've lost a stone of lockdown flab. Only another stone to go!
Happy birthday thatgingergirl 🎉🎉

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 19/01/2021 08:09

Checking in.

Really glad to see you FuzzyPuffling, I was worried you had decided to step away from these threads.

I have just posted on the other thread about Mary Berry having the vaccine. Though I can’t remember if she had it weeks ago and we already knew and it was just another article about it.

HopelessBlue192 · 19/01/2021 08:10

I'm here for my dose of not feeling quite so hopeless! Thank you for the positivity guys!

MoltenLasagne · 19/01/2021 08:18

Morning! Thanks for all the positive stats. My positivity is not coronavirus related, but I calculated that where I live is finally back to 12 hours sun a day and by 7th Feb sunset won't be until 5pm!

FuzzyPuffling · 19/01/2021 08:22

Countess thank you. I'm only engaging with science.

MoltenLasagne · 19/01/2021 08:23

OK so I double checked and it turns out nighttime is 12 hours long but we've still got over 3 hours of twilight so perhaps not quite there on 12 hours of sun yet. Still enjoying the extra daylight though!

TJ17 · 19/01/2021 08:37

Here is a promising article for those worried the about the lack of vaccinations in your areas (@FuzzyPuffling being one)

apple.news/AeyJPOb31Qne9nF3iFKYoAg

Basically:

Covid jabs diverted to over-80s in vaccination blackspots

Coronavirus jabs will be diverted to areas falling behind on vaccinating the over-80s amid concerns about regional disparities in the programme.
Matt Hancock, the health secretary, said that stocks would be prioritised for areas with a large number of unprotected over-80s

TJ17 · 19/01/2021 08:37

Hopefully they all catch up soon 🙏🏼

FourTeaFallOut · 19/01/2021 08:39

I'm really looking forward to seeing the vaccination figures today, with ten new mass vaccination centres in the bank and gp hubs up and running yesterday it should be flying.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 19/01/2021 08:49

Joining you all on the best thread.

Fuzzy good to see you. Hoping you hear news soon. I know we aren’t doing my cats best friend got vaccinated. But my 90+ year old neighbour has only just had her vaccine so we too are in a vaccine desert. I’m hoping that this is sorted soon. No mega hubs in the SW. Loads of people over 80 on the town FB page who are asking when they will get one.

Anyway my positive for the day is.....I have clematis buds starting to grow.

TeenPlusTwenties · 19/01/2021 08:54

Positively joining this thread. Smile

thatgingergirl · 19/01/2021 09:04

Well done on the weight loss Fuzzy!

Molten - lighter days - can't wait! This [ www.scotsman.com/lifestyle/outdoors/when-do-days-start-getting-lighter-and-longer-date-clocks-go-forward-and-spring-begins-3060322] says we have an average of 2 minutes and 7 seconds extra daylight each day after 21 December. That's (natural) science! Lights at the end of all sorts of tunnels!

Inastatus · 19/01/2021 09:09

I’ve just caught up with all the good news so ready to take on the day. Thank you everyone.

@thatgingergirl - happy birthday. Enjoy your cake and flowers.

@Wherediditgo - how about ‘What shall we do with a drunken sailor’? All together now ...

Inastatus · 19/01/2021 09:11

And well done on your weight loss @FuzzyPuffling 😀 Awesome!

louisejxxx · 19/01/2021 09:22

Thank you for the new thread - just placemarking.

Frazzled2207 · 19/01/2021 09:24

Checking in. Not necessarily straight after feb half term but am hoping that schools will at least partly open in March. As government has said schools will be first and I don’t think they will keep all businesses closed till April.

Pomegranatespompom · 19/01/2021 09:29

Amazing weight loss @FuzzyPuffling

I ventured on another thread with people predicting no overseas travel forever (!) - I don't we can't know but it did make me feel a bit low.

I think @tobee is right, there does seem to be a bit less doom.

MorrisZapp · 19/01/2021 09:31

Yay thread six! Here's a treat for the ladies, it's the Prime Minister of Greece getting his jag:

Did you think he was all, "I didn't think this through - I should have worn a short sleeve" or "You're welcome Wink"?
