I have heard of more places starting vaccinating so I'm hopeful numbers can keep rising.

FourTeaFallOut · 20/01/2021 16:11

Government dashboard says first doses are at 4,609,740!!!!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 20/01/2021 16:12

We’re over 5 million doses.

FourTeaFallOut · 20/01/2021 16:14

Boom!

thatgingergirl · 20/01/2021 16:29

Catching up late today - enjoying all the lovely 'photos and finding all the links interesting.

Vaccination numbers today - such good news!

Frazzled2207 · 20/01/2021 16:32

@TheChineseChicken
Novavax (I’m on the trial) is 2 three weeks apart. However at least one of the remaining vaccines in final stages is a one dose vaccine

Welikebeingcosy · 20/01/2021 16:36

The numbers are amazing! Sounds like it is only going to accelerate. Imagine how much difference all of this is going to make in a month or two's time!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 20/01/2021 16:40

Johnson and Johnson is the one shot vaccine I think?

TeaInTheGarden · 20/01/2021 16:52

Yes J&J is one dose and I keep hearing we should hear their results “soon” too...!
Imagine another vaccine or 2 coming along to speed things up even more!

TheChineseChicken · 20/01/2021 16:54

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel

We’re over 5 million doses.
Hurrah!
FuzzyPuffling · 20/01/2021 16:54

Please please send some vaccine our way.
Although I do know of someone (different GP practice group) having theirs tomorrow, but they have to go 30 miles for it.

I can't wait for a one dose vaccine to be approved.

Think how quickly we would get through the population

We ordered 30 million of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine Smile

Can't remember if this has been posted before

Good news on our barometer again on www.covidmessenger.com today!

We have yet more green councils!

Out of 315 councils in England, we have:

300 councils with falling cases week-over-week

Whoop whoop!

Here's hoping we can crack an all green table by the weekend! Wouldnt that be fab progress since last week!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 20/01/2021 16:58

I don't think for a moment all of these will come through but we have way more on order than will ever need. Even allowing for 2 doses

TeaInTheGarden · 20/01/2021 16:59

Wow great news @littleowl1 !!

Does anyone know how quickly the J&J and novavax ones could be rolled out? Are they being made in advance like the Oxford vaccine was? Or will there be a wait even if approved?

Great news Littleowl

Our borough has nearly halved in last few weeks. Remarkable.

FuzzyPuffling · 20/01/2021 17:01

Oh, the local (12 miles away) hub is doing some more community over 80's at the weekend. There's a call out for help with transport on the local FB page.

littleowl1 · 20/01/2021 17:02

Talking of vaccines - does anyone know if the Oxford vaccine has been approved for use in Europe yet?

I have family in Europe and vaccine rollout there is super slow compared to here.

I am hoping it will change once they approve Oxford.

FourTeaFallOut · 20/01/2021 17:04

No not yet, can't be long though, surely?

littleowl one red rising area was green last time I looked, so it’s back to rising again, I hope it’s a blip and not a trend. I’m wondering if it’s a care home setting that’s causing the rise?

Lovely to see the green areas.

Hope that Fuzzy and Mr Fuzzy hear soon about a vaccination.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 20/01/2021 17:10

So’s mine, Louise! We’re still fairly low relative to other areas, we hadn’t had much more than 20 new cases a day and then one day there were suddenly 40. I think the likeliest thing is a very specific outbreak somewhere like a food factory that will be relatively easily contained. Hopefully it will be similar in other areas too.

I am howling at the Biden inauguration speech. If this isn't a good news day then I don't know what is.
