Not next week, from the 23rd Jan.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 14/01/2021 16:04

You are right 500000 does burst it apparently Grin

So I put in my husband's age 53 and changed daily rate to 499000

This is the result Smile

Based on your profile, there are between 22,548,112 and 25,838,072 people in front of you in the queue for a COVID vaccine across the UK.
📅 Given a vaccination rate of 3,493,000 a week and an uptake of 70.6%, you should expect to receive your first dose of vaccine between 28/02/2021 and 07/03/2021.

You should then get your second dose by between 23/05/2021 and 30/05/2021.

BBCONEANDTWO · 14/01/2021 16:10

@FourTeaFallOut

Grin I'll copy a few paragraphs for you.

"Ministers are preparing to more than double the vaccination rate to half a million a day next week under plans to dramatically ramp up delivery.

Confidential government figures which were published by the Scottish government suggest that the government is preparing to vaccinate as many as 3.8 million people next week.

It would eclipse the 2.6 million people who have received the vaccine over the past five weeks amid reports that Boris Johnson was frustrated by the slow pace of the rollout. The most recent daily vaccination figure was 207,661.

The figures suggest that the government is on target to deliver on its pledge of vaccinating 15 million of those who are most at risk by February 15. It means that all of the at risk groups could be vaccinated by mid-March."

Half a million A DAY - wow wow wow if they manage that. If they did it 7 days a week that 3.5 million a week?l. I hope it can be done I really do.

More promising Zoe data today. R rate 0.9 on average for UK and looks like we’re almost certainly past the peak.

TeaInTheGarden · 14/01/2021 16:18

Reading that has made me feel emotional. 500k per day.... wow! Please please let it be true and get us all out of this mess.

TeaInTheGarden · 14/01/2021 16:19

I really hope they smash the middle of fab target. The fact they set it so publicly gives me hope that they plan to do even better...!

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 14/01/2021 16:24

Oooh 2 million a week means I'll be given my first dose before the end of April. That's pretty cool.

GrumpySausage · 14/01/2021 16:29

Just caught up with todays posts and I'm feeling so much better. Starting to feel a little bud of hope ❤️

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 14/01/2021 16:30

Yes I have always thought they set their target low so can smash it.

Yep. They would be daft not to, TBH

This and the vaccine news is really helping

Excellent! Just had a look on there myself, the sight of that graph is so encouraging and almost emotional Blush

It will be interesting to see what the governments published R is; I tend to find it’s not usually as ahead/as low as the Zoe app, so I’m guessing perhaps 1.0 - 1.2 compared to last weeks 1.1 - 1.4.

HopelessBlue192 · 14/01/2021 17:44

This makes me smile so much! Plus the little hyacinth I got from the supermarket, the flower opened a little today after I gave it a small bit of a water and it smelt amazing - the smell of Spring and hope I always think.

Pensions Minister, Guy Opperman, is filling in some of the dashboard blanks for today. He has tweeted that there's been 248,117 vaccines today, he doesn't say what the split is between first and second doses but capacity is definitely going in the right direction.

I am rounding that up to 250000 Grin

So the capacity is there for that much already. Every if some where second doses.

That means another 100000 a day and we are flying Star

Frazzled2207 · 14/01/2021 19:58

@FourTeaFallOut
that's very good, a million every 4 days or so?

FourTeaFallOut · 14/01/2021 20:01

Not quite but not long now till it's 1m/4 days. I think tomorrow must be a little lower because the snow caused havoc with some of the vaccination centres. For the first time in my life I think I'll cross my fingers for plain old damp and grey.

Was just going to say the same. I think the figure would have been higher without snow.

Joining this thread as I was too positive in my own thread apparently regarding possibility of schools opening sooner than we think and possibly no further restrictions being introduced!!

Gives unmumsnetty wave to everyone SmileCake

Our local hub were cancelling today for older people due to weather. They just had to rebook their appt. The jabs were going to health and social care workers instead. Of course the older people could go if they chose to.

If that happens - and there's a full population in the UK of 66.6 million and we're doing 1m vaccines every 4 days - and say they only do it 4 days a week so 1 million every week - we could have the WHOLE population vaccinated in around 60 weeks so just over a year for EVERYONE. We don't really need every single person vaccinated so I'm reckoning half a year for at least half - does that make sense?
