Will he be on time? What will he say?

OP posts:
thecatfromjapan · 04/01/2021 20:04

No exams.

Well - you could see that coming from space.

2010Aussie · 04/01/2021 20:04

Something has definitely happened to his hair.

itsgettingweird · 04/01/2021 20:05

Schools are safe.

They are just vectors of transmission 🤦‍♀️

Well if during a pandemic that doesn't mean unsafe .....

Mummyoflittledragon · 04/01/2021 20:05

Not surprising. Why didn’t they take the decision sooner? Each day in education is important in children’s lifetimes apparently.

All today did imo is spread it around rather than educate the kids.

SimonJT · 04/01/2021 20:05

21 days before hospitals are overwhelmed, that is scary

thecatfromjapan · 04/01/2021 20:05

NHS overwhelmed in 21 days ...

thecatfromjapan · 04/01/2021 20:06

So why did they send children in today?

And let the NEU take a beating for doing the absolutely obviously necessary thing?

itsgettingweird · 04/01/2021 20:06

Have to say - for once he's being serious and calmly informative.

mbosnz · 04/01/2021 20:07

Could the fucking dimwit change it up a little? How about 'alack'?

BertNErnie · 04/01/2021 20:07

This!!!!!

*@2010Aussie

Something has definitely happened to his hair.

That's what I've just said to DH.

SpaceRaiders · 04/01/2021 20:07

Schools closed until half term! 😖

This made me LOL
Twintub · 04/01/2021 20:08

He is desperately trying not to do his pointy thing

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 04/01/2021 20:09

@itsgettingweird yes seemed more serious and I get what he means re : schoolchildren

HappyNewYear2021 · 04/01/2021 20:09

@boatyardblues

I think Boris should let the stylists who did the Panem scenes in Hunger Games style his hair. He’s half way there with the mad blonde fluff.
Great idea...
TheSunIsStillShining · 04/01/2021 20:09

This is comedy gold
"devolved nations share my convictions and are taking similar steps."

No, you buffoon.... They have takeN steps before you. as usual.

endofthelinefinally · 04/01/2021 20:10

Should have done this before Christmas.

2010Aussie · 04/01/2021 20:10

@sadpapercourtesan

We'll be using this to take the edge off the howling despair...
Love the 'Obscure Greek War' reference.

When Boris first became PM, I put a bet on what cliche he would come up with in his acceptance speech. I can't remember what it was (he speaks in cliches perpetually) but I won £20.

TheSunIsStillShining · 04/01/2021 20:10

"Johnson says the problem is not that schools are unsafe, adding that children are still unlikely to be affected by new variant, but they can “act as vectors for transmission”"

I still think he doesn't get the whole virus thing.....

angelhorror · 04/01/2021 20:12

@Rosie2000

There is an expectation he will cancel all exams too.
Has he done this? I thought he said they were but DS thinks not.

Do you think that he's had the vaccine and 'messing with your hair' is a previously undocumented side effect?

Poppingnostopping · 04/01/2021 20:14

He should be embarrassed- suing schools for daring to shut just before Christmas, going on Andrew Marr and swearing schools are safe and letting primary kids mingle for a day (accompanied by the usual threatening letters for those who didn't want to go in) -and now it's all at home til Feb half term! Why not give parents the whole of Christmas and New Year to try to work out how the heck to manage this, and schools the same! He literally said the opposite of all of this on every opportunity, so did Gav who declared exams would definitely be going ahead!

I agree with these decisions, but Gav should have cancelled exams 6 weeks ago with Wales/Scotland, and Boris should have put us in lockdown the day after Christmas, with no school return at all. And given this as a consistent message.

boatyardblues · 04/01/2021 20:14

Kier looking oddly rosy. Feverish?

angelhorror · 04/01/2021 20:14

He said 'it is not fair for all exams to go ahead this summer*

So which ones will and which ones won't? More ducking uncertainty.
