Can’t remember where I saw it, but saw somewhere that levels in primary aged children thought to be levelling out
(Nb- it may have been here I saw it Smile)

@GoldenOmber

Am sure it’ll start ramping up fast from next week. Before you know it, it’ll be “can’t believe we’re only vaccinating 1.5 million a day, laughing stock of the world, what an utter shambles!” Wink

The school stuff is really frustrating. Please don’t leave though! Just create a shortcut to this thread so you can bypass everything else

As an early years teacher who has been expected to work through this (with no ppe or possibility of social distancing) I understand the 'moaning'. We're worried sick for ourselves, our kids and our extended family. (I'm in one of the worst hit areas)

This thread however feels like my safe haven and I'm so glad there is something I can read to help me kerb the anxiety I'm feeling at the moment. Thanks to all those finding this positive information, sadly I'm not finding many people are interested, but it sure works for me Thanks

Spiratedaway · 08/01/2021 20:55

@TheChineseChicken how do I do that ? X

TheChineseChicken · 08/01/2021 20:57

If you’re on an iPhone, go to the box with the upward arrow at the bottom of the screen and choose add to HomeScreen. You’ll then get a shortcut on your Home Screen straight to this thread

Can anyone shed any light on what might happen after the first four sets are vaccinated? I figure they won't go beyond the 12 weeks gap so they will have to start vaccinated those again with their second jab? If so, won't it be almost a year until they get to healthy thirty year olds?!

Cornishqween · 08/01/2021 22:50

Yep spirited I'm in the south east too, our area was/is the 4th highest numbers in the U.K. so I totally sympathise. The only thing I keep telling myself is that we must be at or very near the peak and we will get through this like last time.

tobee · 09/01/2021 03:09

Barry Humphries aka Dame Edna got the vaccine

I haven't heard but I assume you are right yes.

But don't forget even if it does take a year to get to the healthy 30s it wont matter as the rest of the country will have been vaccinated meaning cases will be a lot lower than they are these days and the chances of catching Covid will be a lot lower.

With every person vaccinated it still helps the rest who aren't I think that's what what we all need to keep in mind to stay positive Smile

chri55ie · 09/01/2021 07:52

I think they are releasing the vaccination plan on Monday so you may get the answer then?

FourTeaFallOut · 09/01/2021 07:59

I honestly don't think it's insurmountable. When you take out kids and vaccine refusers we have around 37 million to jab. With a double dose vaccine and 2 million doses a week (feasible in a week or two) that's 37 weeks.

That's ignoring the j&j jab that might kick in from March and halving the vaccine schedule from there on in.

Obviously life never works as smoothly as we hope but I don't it will take a year to get to the worried well.

Fleshlumpeater · 09/01/2021 08:00

I would like to think that by the time we get 12 weeks in and the first people start needing their second dose then capacity will be ramped up so that we can do all the second doses plus start all the first dose for the lower groups. It will be interesting to see the vaccination plan on Monday.
