Travelling Tabby just has weekly vaccine numbers for now.

Sorry to be a pain but can any bright spark tell me how to hide the main CV topic from my phone? Thanks!

sashagabadon · 05/01/2021 10:07

If any of you at home cleaning ( like me) Matt Chorley Times Radio on how. He is doing a review of vaccination progress over the world. He is very light hearted and fun to listen to, also might be interesting. On now till 1pm

thatgingergirl · 05/01/2021 10:09

Countess - gosh, I'm going to be scrolling all over that when I should be ironing!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 05/01/2021 10:11

My good news today is that a friend who is probably the most clinically vulnerable young person I know had the vaccine this morning.
I am so thrilled, she is 34 with CF and works in a hospital which is probably why she got it so soon.

Delatron · 05/01/2021 10:17

I keep taking my mind back to last summer when I hear all the doom and gloom stories (apologies to those who were shielding).
We didn’t have a vaccine but still managed to have some semblance of normality.
Vaccine plus seasonality and I think this summer has to be even better. We can keep ploughing on with the vaccines through summer too. Each month will get better soon.

sashagabadon · 05/01/2021 10:18

Another positive thing to mention, I am off work today as I was due to help in my kids school with the testing( now obviously postponed) anyway, despite all the drama on the school threads about how impossible it all was, I was one of about 45 parent volunteers all able and willing, many nhs staff and the school had it all well organised in the school hall with everything we needed. We all have training to do and will be dbs checked. If my school has managed it so efficiently and effectively then other schools will be able to as well. They’ll be ready to go again hopefully in 2 weeks and I’ll volunteer again.
Teachers seemed really positive about it all.

MarshaBradyo · 05/01/2021 10:19

Sasha that’s brilliant. Honestly it’s a parallel world on here.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 05/01/2021 10:22

Hello, my positive for the day is the sun is shining here! Only a small one, but it’s working for me.

dobby me too. I have two loads of washing on the line. How's that for optimism!

My good news concerns two of my close friends who are frontline NHS workers. One is an ICU doctor and received her first vaccine dose in mid Dec. The other is a paramedic and he's just said he's getting his first jab today.

Ah that post @TJ17 made me well up in a good way. Can’t wait to hug my friends.

I’m also grateful for every sunny day at the moment. About to head out with the dog and DS2.

DD’s primary school was very keen to get back and all the emails we have had from the head are full of regret that they can’t open. Very positive messaging from them and no misery
TeaInTheGarden · 05/01/2021 11:09

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel yeah I have that one but it’s annoying me as not been updated since 27 December 🙈😂

PerseverancePays · 05/01/2021 11:27

This might be good news or it might be a gratitude thing but here it is: today I took out my little Miele vacuum cleaner and realised it’s twenty years old! How about that? It’s done three house moves ; from damp cottage to draughty terrace to sublime hard floors super warm flat.
What’s working for you today?

TheChineseChicken · 05/01/2021 11:36

Well, with my son at nursery, I’ve been able to look after my daughter just the two of us, which I haven’t done for a year. It’s actually really nice and I’m much less impatient and ratty

All 3 of my children are engaged in home learning and even more amazingly ds1 (autistic traits, usually only prepared to do maths and science) is actually doing English.Shock He’s starting Macbeth and it helps that he likes Scotland.
Aberforthsgoat · 05/01/2021 12:26

I was directed over here after I started a thread on how low I’m feeling because so many threads are saying this will never be over and we will always live in some version of lockdown

I just wanted to say thank you this thread has helped a lot

FuzzyPuffling · 05/01/2021 12:43

My washing is almost dry! 😁
DH and I have been for a walk..a couple of miles with some sharp Cornish hills.
Lunch is home made veg and lentil soup with home made bread.
These are all good things.

OP posts:
Delatron · 05/01/2021 12:44

Yes I’m having homemade lentil soup too. Wouldn’t normally have time to make it but made a vat of it to have every day.

tootyfruitypickle · 05/01/2021 12:45

Home learning going much better here for DD (13) with registration and live intros to lessons. Last time she got so depressed but I think this time it’s going to be ok
