Sat crying. This isn’t ending or getting better

So sick of this. Back into tier 3. We have followed all the rules. No one in the house since March. I can’t do this all winter. I have two small children and I’m going insane with no family help. People say it’s going to get better but it isn’t. Or it’s months and months away. I can’t stop crying I just want to see my family.

Why have so many countries suddenly decided on a programme of "population control"?

I always thought that meant restricting the number of children people could haveConfused

stampsurprise · 27/11/2020 14:26

I do not see how it is in any government's best interests for their economy to collapse. I do not think the lockdowns are for any other reason other than COVID

pinkearedcow · 27/11/2020 14:37

It will be interesting to revisit these threads this time next year when hopefully there will be some semblance of normality and see whether the conspiracy theorists have been proved right. I am certain they won't have been and there will be lots of name-changed posters...

Did your long self absorbed diatribe make you feel good? You too are an ass.

Dongdingdong · 27/11/2020 14:42

the sheer stupidity and ridiculous thinking, along with invented statistics

What invented statistic?

LastTrainEast · 27/11/2020 14:50

"Follow the rules do what they say but still nothing improves" It's not supposed to improve. It's supposed to get worse more slowly.

I'm sorry that people are struggling and it's obviously harder on people stuck at home with kids, but it's only for a little longer.

Northernsoulgirl45 · 27/11/2020 17:39

If the cause for concern is over 60s getting infected why aren’t there just tighter restrictions on that group? Why do whole industries have to be decimated to protect over 60s?
@MadameBlobby I don't think for one moment it is to protect the over 60s. It is only going to be about hospital capacity.

Sb2012 · 27/11/2020 17:56

And there we have it folks .. the sheer stupidity and ridiculous thinking, along with invented statistics - that has led us to having one of the highest death rates in the world. . and why we are having to put up with the bloody annoying restrictions.

@Trickyboy
Spot on. This mentality and way of thinking is exactly why we have these restrictions and lockdowns. Some people just don’t have any common sense whatsoever.

Probably about as good as it made you feel to tell a thread full of bereaved, lonely and struggling posters to 'suck it up' because Zoom exists 🙄

Nothowiexpected · 27/11/2020 19:11

Thegereldine3000 Population control Hmm you do realise that population numbers have been declining massively in many parts of the world all by themselves. Italy has a huge problem with falling birthrate so why would they buy into the project?

Well said psychomath

Nasty, nasty post belittling the very real suffering caused by these restrictions.

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 27/11/2020 19:41

@Napqueen1234

Really sorry you’re having a bad time. I haven’t managed to read through the whole thread, but have you tried a break in listening to the news? I find I listen to the radio a lot for company, usually news channels, and this has really started dragging me down. It’s a constant reminder of what’s going on and what we are all missing. Try and surround yourself with positive things - podcasts, tv programmes, books etc. It is SO hard sometimes - hang on in there. Take solace in the fact that there are so many people in the same boat as you, as we’re all doing it together. At some point in the future this will just be a distant memory, we just need to get through this first xxx

Napqueen1234 · 27/11/2020 19:48

Thank you @KeysDontBelongInTheFridge. I’ve been back in work 2 months and not being at home bored on mat leave so constantly reading news updates has helped as has being out and about and busier. I’m was feeling a lot more positive recently but the last few days have been a struggle. I’m very far from family and reading threads about how selfish people are being for planning to meet at Christmas it’s adding a layer of guilt to the sadness/whole shitshow (my fault- step away from the thread!).

OP posts:
ValancyRedfern · 27/11/2020 20:26

It's not selfish to want a family life. It's a human need. Everyone is different, but my grandad is 90 and is very clear he would rather see his family at Christmas and take the risk, than lose out on what will inevitably be one of his last few family Christmases.

I feel for you so much OP. I was beyond lonely when I had a baby and was frequently suicidal. If I hadn't been able to see people it might very well have pushed me over the edge. Humans need contact and zoom doesn't cut it.

nearlynermal · 27/11/2020 20:54

So sorry, OP. It feels like a marathon but there will be a vaccine, there will be a beautiful summer with long evenings. And all the time you're enduring, your little ones are growing in safety. Hang in.

BernieInn · 27/11/2020 21:32

Zoom does the job for relatively short work-related meetings with no more than 6 people, and its better than telephone conferencing. It is absolutely no substitute whatsoever for face-to-face interaction with actual human beings.

GabsAlot · 27/11/2020 22:56

@Thegereldine3000

It won't ever end because it's a perfectly fashioned scamdemic perpetuated by fear rather than actual death rates. Wake up to the truth and stop conforming like good little sheep, because all you're achieving is waisting your life. Turn off the properganda and wake up to the truth. Saying its so hard or we're all in it together is just a patronising bitch slap that doesn't help the millions of people who are the real victims of coronavirus. Not in the sense of becoming infected (because less than 1% of people die from it), yet by losing their jobs and being isolated. This is the start to population control. I don't imagine anyone will take a moment to consider what I've said, but know history repeats itself in the presence of ignorance. Your conformaty to government guidlines is no different to the conformity seen in Nazi germany. Wake up to the truth.
please dont go there its insulting
MessAllOver · 28/11/2020 06:03

Oh look, people have come to tell us how morally superior they are because they don't moan (apart from all their moaning about moaning, of course). Because smugness won the war or whatever.

I hope they all get trampled by alpacas on their socially distanced walks. Maybe we can watch over Zoom while drinking hot chocolate from a flask. That would cheer me up.

Northernsoulgirl45 · 28/11/2020 08:32

This cheered me right up. The humour is why I come back to this site 😁
